It was a great tackle ........... watch MOTD and get back to us "Chris Foy thought Wes Brown got the ball first so no free kick, or booking, was given." The referee was correct. It was nice of him to take the time out from discussing his own team on the scum board to pop over and let us see it though wasn't it?
It was a great tackle that Charlie Hurley would've been proud of ....... it's a contact sport, sadly these things happen. Mind you, I'm sure the MOTD ****ers will make it sound like Brown should be banned for life. I hope the lad is ok.
Told you boys weeks ago...central mid needs replacing. Catts and Larsson blow like a hurricane. So... guy gets taken to hospital with his ankle in a brace...and you think it's a great tackle. Upstanding group of individuals you are indeed. So if Ramirez is out for a year due to a complicated ankle fracture... which is unlikely but not impossible...will you go on insisting it's a great tackle?
Of course .......... players can incur serious injuries scoring a great goal, doesn't take anything away from the goal. It's a contact sport and a man's game, it was an accident but still a great tackle because Brown prevented a goal by winning the ball within the rules of the game.
Travelsick - I've watched the challenge a few times and the defender does seem to get a glance on the ball first. That said I think he's lucky to stay on the pitch as it looked to be a touch wild to me (just my opinion) and if it was one of our players I'd expect them to be off. However, the severity of the injury has absolutely nothing to do with whether it should have been a red or not. It's a contact sport and sometimes you get injured, there are plenty of reds where there's no damage done at all - it really isn't a highly relevant factor

Brown got the ball. Therefore it was a great tackle. What is so difficult to understand about that? I hope Ramirez doesn't miss even one game. But even if he is out for a long time, Brown still got the ball, so it was a great tackle.
In the current climate if you catch someone with your studs up, the ref is more than likely to give a red. Regarldess of whether the tackle wins the balls first or not. Not saying that is right or wrong though.
The pictures are misleading and the clips show Brown went for the ball and took the ball ............. there was no intent to catch the player. If you believe he went in 'studs up' on the player then no doubt there will be deserved repercussions.
