Just noticed this bit - that's already happened <laugh>

There's always discrepancies between tables, but whichever one you look at we're miles ahead (behind?) when it comes to how we've suffered through injuries. That's not an excuse though - it's an indictment of our club and one of the reasons we are where we are.

Like you said though - it shows how lacking in depth we were at the start of the season!

So Kirchoff and N'Doye (two new signings) are back up players to sit on the bench?
    Ola Toivonen?
    Jack Rodwell? (injury?)
Watmore and Fletcher are in and around your team?

It's a much better side than the one we put out of 4 U21's, 4 returning from injury, Lascelles and Darlow are backup aren't quiet there and Gouffran (the less said the better).
The only player in our team who has a chance of a run out would be Aarons and possibly Gouffran but thats because he's obviously jerking someone at the club off to get on the bench.

I'm particularly disappointed by the number of injuries. I mean 33? We need to get more than that.

Yes Kirchhoff is currently backup behind Oshea, Brown,Kaboul(when fit) and probably our new signing Kone who I can't imagine us paying 5m for to sit on the bench.
Rodwell's probably our 3rd choice CM behind Mvilla, Catts and Larrson.

Nobody knows how and if NDoye will fit in our starting 11, so yes he is currently a squad player.
Fletcher will probably move on before Monday.
Moan all you like but them 2 teams show how much strength in depth we have compared to yous.

All I was saying fella is that those players named have about 50 run outs this year between them, bar gouffran our lot would have had around about 10 if we were lucky.

Which proves your point that we are ****ed when so many of our first team players are injured! (see post above)

I'm in no way trying to defend the man, and in reality - yes - you need the results, little else matters. But in the first half of the season, the spineless performances were in my eyes the opposite of where we now are. When we conceded in October, it was a matter of how many for the opposition. Some games we got away with it - Liverpool/Spurs didn't show up, Bournemouth would say what I'm saying today about performance vs result. Siimilarly we can't say "we got battered at Bournemouth, deserved to get hammered" and in the next breath dismiss our own performances where we've been in the ascendancy and got nowt. Obviously it's all about results but I'm just suggesting that the performances have been better, we have looked more dangerous and played some good stuff. I don't think weve been heavily possession based, we've mixed it a little.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. It happened, it's in the past, no points were won or lost.

We'll have to agree to disagree, a few pretty passes in the middle of the park creating little does not constitute dangerous or playing good stuff to me. I haven't got it in for McClaren. I just don't think he's done a very good job so far. He may turn it around. More than anything I don't think you can spend some 76m and finish in the bottom, and just go "oh well I thought we were tremendous". <laugh>

You've both got **** squads, but fear not, good squads aren't the be all and end all...

Look at Chelsea, then look at how many of Leicester's player's they'd fancy in their first 11.

Team spirit is the way forward, it's the future, LVG is living proof <laugh>

    They haven't though.
Fletch has played a few no where near 50.
Other than him everybody else has only been a bit part player so far this season.

We can literally argue about anything can't we looking at this discussion on squads. I'd happily take most of both squads from the game out the back and put them down for the sake of humanity. I'd suggest reconstituting them as car tyres, but they wouldn't make the grade.

I think the point they are making is that we have an even ****ter squad than they do. Luckily for us though, they also have Fat Sam in charge of that better squad so they are still below us!

After 38 games is all that matters though innit.

They'd swap all 6 (or 7) of them derby wins for the next one if it means them staying up and you lot going down.

Likewise, you'll soon get over 6 drubbings if you take the next 3 points and they slip out of the league.
