We have never beat Carlilse at the first time of asking in the FA Cup, this is our 4th attempt. A draw is the worst result for us, would rather we got beat. Also Ki playing in centre half makes no sense whatsoever, give youth a chance instead of playing people out of position ffs.
I won't question anything personally. Just my opinion but, as Paul Lambert said (although I hate the bloke), the FA Cup, for a club in our position, is not an important thing. Fans love it but the premier league is much more important. Just my opinion like Edit: Gary Bennett says it was Ji to blame for their goal not Ki!
I just want the team, and particularly the strikers, to get a bit of confidence. We should be able to dominate a team like Carlisle, but according to the BBC we've only had 42% possession.
That still doesn't make sense though, because Ki is one of our most important first team players. It's not like Poyet's playing a reserve player out of position to save a first teamer, he's just randomly put a first teamer completely out of position for no reason whatsoever. I'm baffled. This is stranger for me than Brucey's infamous 4-6-0 formation. Unless both Roberge AND Diakite have picked up knocks it makes no sense at all. Even then, surely it would be better to play a youth team player in his favoured position rather than knacker one of our most important players, playing a role he has no idea what to do anyway? Crazy.
I I understand sort of from what they're saying because it sounds like 3 CD and wing backs with Brown, Celutska and Ki at centre back - Ki is, by trade, a DM and I believe he played centre half for Swansea a few times - but it wasn;t his mistake that led to the goal apparently
If you cant beat Carlisle then you are a poor side and are doomed to relegation to the lower league and justifiably so. Carlisle are struggling themselves in their league and they have more possession, that is so bad at home against a poor side.
