Ozil has been immense, the king of assists starts with an assist! Wilshere has had some good passes as well. Kosc+Sagna works well as a CB pairing. Giroud has been battling hard and had a good goal. Flamini is playing the Arteta role very well. Infact all of our midfield players are doing well. Walcott seems to be in the right place at the right time constantly, very good from him but his finishing has been off. We are creating plenty of opportunities, we just need to find another goal early in the second half to put the fixture to bed.
Giroud is always the same imo. Will get a goal but look poor for most of the game. Hes a good player, but I genuinely think a top top striker would make such a difference for us we really could challenge for the league.
I miss Ozil already he has been world class today on his debut and he will create a lot for Giroud and walcott this year.
The only reason why Theo has so much space is because Sunderland's centre backs are constantly assaulting Giroud.
If i were on the field, i'd be assaulting Giroud too. How did we go from Wrighty, Anelka, DB, Henry, RVP to Giroud? I guess that's progress. EDIT: It's a joke, before anyone gets touchy.
You can't say that Theo has missed 3 or 4 chances, and then just ignore that Giroud put him through with a great flick or made space for him with his movement.
Sunderland players asking for Ozil's shirt as soon as the ref blows for half time. Its been a long time since we Arsenal fans have been in this situation. Indeed, even the recent legends had to either build or rebuild their iconic status (Viera, Henry, Bergkamp etc) over a couple of seasons.....but this guy is ready made...off the top shelf...Mersut Ozil is Arsenal shopping in Gucci, Armani and Versace all in one go. That first touch had the sumptuous quality of a Beethoven masterpiece. I love this guy.
Giroud has been a boss today. Fighting hard, linking play well (his flick for Wilshere was a beauty) and scoring a great goal. No idea how he is comming in for criticism in this game. And this season he is currently top scorer in the league..
Im with you on that. Giroud is just not the level of striker I want at Arsenal. A good player but that is all. we should have a great striker. One goal a bit of hard work with no end result and a handful of missed chances is his usual game. At least he is getting that one goal and just so everyone knows, I would love it if he can prove me wrong. At the rate he could end up with the golden boot, but I would class him as the worst striker to ever get it.
Look Giroud is never going to look like Dennis Berkamp with his touch, he's not that kind of player. The guy is a workhorse. If he continues to score at this rate I will be more than happy.
Btw has anyone noticed how well Flamini is playing the Arteta role? he is always there to help the defence but fit enough to get about the pitch. Good performance from him. Think he is going to turn out a great signing. And the Sagna-Kosc CB pairing needs more of a mention, they are doing well.
You keep being impressed with whoever you like and i'll be happy that Giroud is currently the EPL top scorer and in good form
Giroud is a stoke player, not an Arsenal player. Big men linking up play is not the Arsenal way. We'll be a hoofball side before you know it. That's my issue with Giroud.
