These threads get better and better RTB. I notice from the characteristics that they like to attack down their right - not good news. I also notice that they don't defend well against skillful players - fill ya boots Aiden It says that they are very weak at defending through balls. For that reason I would go with that team RTB, with Jones' pace up top. Defensively, they are clearly poor, which makes it all the more important to get at them from the off. I'm expecting a positive reaction from the players and a 3-0 win.
I remember Josh Hawkes being talked about favourably when we signed him, does anyone know how he's doing?
Great thread again RTB, If Heineken did threads, they would copy yours, I would not mind if LJ coped your team either. We will see OaU..
Swindon another team that play 3-5-2 so I dont see Johnson changing the system for this one whilst we are still missing Wright and Flanagan. Surely though it's time for Jones to start? With Leadbitter out I'd like to see Winchester given a chance in the middle next to Power. I'd also be telling McFazdean it's an 8pm kick off. ----------------------Burge-------------- --CMac-------Sanderson----Onien--- --Gooch--Winchester--Power--Vokins-- --Jones-‐---------Wyke---------McGeady---
Could do with a good win and a good performance to settle the nerves after Saturday I think we'll get it. Good wins on Tuesday and Saturday should set us up nicely for the Portsmouth game. Saying that 2 scrappy 1-0's will do. Just got to keep the run going. No let up in this league. Bloody relentless
Thanks for the support mate. Just want what’s best for the club and the fans, if that means not agreeing with certain decisions that the manager makes then so be it.
He scored today https://safc.com/news/academy-news/2021/march/match-report-vs-villa-23s The Black Cats raced out of the stalls after the interval and went ahead almost instantly when Hawkes curled an effort into the bottom corner from 18-yards. But their lead was short-lived as Ramsey quickly followed suit with a sublime strike of his own, beating Patterson with the stopper at full stretch. And in the 68th minute, Ramsey had his and his side’s second when he slammed home a rebound from close-range. Young added a third in the 88th minute, rounding Patterson and slotting home. Sunderland then grabbed a consolation deep into stoppage time as Wearne latched onto Ryan Wombwell’s cross, but there was no time to search for the equaliser as Aston Villa came away with the points. Sunderland: Patterson, Wombwell, B Taylor, Almond, Richardson, Hackett, Neil (46’), Wilding, Wearne, Hawkes, Taylor Subs not used: Beaumont, Chapman, Dicicco, Harris, Richardson

I like this team and formation, but I wonder if Diamond could be included rather than Vokins. I have a long held view that we always prefer imports to our own home grown players. This sends out the wrong message as far as I am concerned, and have seen nothing to suggest that Vokins is the better player. I dont think any team would relish having to cope with pace and directness on both flanks. I also think that giving McGeady a free role is the better option, its how he plays anyway, and if he shows any signs of fatigue we could replace him with Maguire. This imo would give us one hell of an attacking option imo. As always it will be fascinating to see what formation LJ comes up with, and more importantly how the players adapt to his instructions. What I don't want to see is what happened against Crewe when just after the quadruple substitution we had Jones and Diamond on the same wing, wires crossed there surely.
Interested who we go with on the left. Jones changed the game on Saturday but it’s mcgeadys best position. Think they both should start either way.
Tomorrow night is absolutely the night to freshen things up and LJ seems to be hintjng at it in the press. I agree with everyone that Jones should start tomorrow but I'm not convinced Maguire should. Yes if McGeady needs resting but otherwise bringing him off the bench suits me. His set plays are awesome as well as his goal on Saturday but we shouldn't forget how poor he was earlier in the season and how unfit he seemed to be
That would be my choice. Gooch on the left of the midfield 4, with Diamond on the right, leaving McGeady and Jones to rove.
HA'WWWWWWAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM After that pìss poor first half Saturday I was pleased to see a fightback and get a point at least. I'm hoping that has really stirred the players and given them a kick up the arse to push on to the end. I'm hoping for a 3-0 .
