    Ah good old Monty,
I’ll only post if it’s negative even though there were positives to be had!

did you go? Or did you actually stay at home like you keep telling us you will then claiming to go!

Probably not there was a good few chances where McGeady could have passed just a few seconds sooner or not try to do it all himself and we could have been 4-0 up.

You’ll learn monty987 (or ivorlot) and his posting techniques very quickly. He’s said multiple time he won’t go and won’t renew then contradicted completely! He is also ultra negative. Never has positive stuff to say and makes up unrealistic things which would help us (like loaning Dwight Gayle from West Brom last season)

So play him in a central role and leave a more direct player out wide. He is perfect imo for that role, and he has an eye for goal. Win Win.

What I liked about Summerbee was he almost always got his crosses in and had the ability to curl the cross round defenders without taking them on all of the time and risk the attack breaking down . A very underrated player in my opinion .

He arguably our greatest player last season

Maybe Ross got the better out of him

Yeah I reckon he was, I think Parky wants to play with more urgency and get balls into the box quickly and Geads hasn't got with the program yet.

If he does get with that and passes a lot faster to create more than score himself we will start smashing teams.

If he did but if anything he seems to be slowing play down more and being more greedy as the season goes on, at 33 I don't think he's going to change much.

I'd like to see him at least tried in the middle, never seems to occur to our managers though.

He did used to wind me up with his work rate, but the one thing he could do was cross a ball like few others could, and as you say, sometimes whip it on the outside of a player without needing to beat him.

That allied to the pace and 'flatness' if his crossing were bloody great for Philips and especially Quinn.

Pleased with the win yesterday. Just had to make that happen. At the moment let’s just focus on the top six. Hopefully January can bring us something extra and we can push on again. Haway the lads!!

My highlight was the 12 pass sequence in the 6th minute which earned us a corner, and possibly set the tone for the rest of the match.

Agree with almost everything you say there mate. Only thing I'm not sure about, is McGeady playing behind the striker. I haven't seen anything to suggest he can play that role effectively. When he drifts inside, he often gets caught in possession. He came on in the play off final, tried a ridiculous shot from 35 yards out, which was blocked, they broke away and we lost the match. Maguire had one of his infuriatingly poor games on Saturday, but should be nailed on to start, as he creates more than anyone else..... except Denver! Great performance from the young lad.

I actually think that McGeady is the Anti-Grigg. By the time he squares his man up and beats him, the central defenders are back in position. Grigg needs the ball in early.
