I remember the Nani incident mate, in the CL against Real Madrid and I blame the ref for that loss, but I couldn't tell you his name. The standards are poor across the board, which is my point, nobody sticks out for me.

The ref at the game vs Stoke made a bad decision mate, he only saw from his point of view, a tackle that looked like Wes Brown went in like an absolute idiot. Only when he got the benefit of a replay, you could see it was actually a ****ing joke of a red card to give.

Funny how many opposition fans say that then realise during a game how important he is to us as a player when on form. I doubt he's fit - trust me you'd rather have "Rodwell the invisible" in there than Cattermole from a Soto perspective!

Would be happy with a 1-1 mate - just need to steady things after Sunday's display of a lack of defensive ability of any kind! Not sure on the 3-5-2 question - guess it depends on Sam's training this week

At the game. Haven't seen us win in about 3 years.

    I reckon we might lose.

I know what you mean you always get players who no other teams fans rate, but I fail to see what he offers other than energy and a red card risk. In a way I'm gutted that you conceded 6 last week as I'm sure Sam will tighten up now n make it really difficult for us.

Be interesting to see if you do play 3-5-2, and if you do to see if we can get Mane in behind. For what it's worth most of our team picks itself. Front 4 of Pelle, Mane, Tadic & Davis. Back 5 of Stek, Fonte, VVD, Bertand and Cedric. The other 2 for me are the only choices to make for me (with Vic suspended). It will probably be Clasie and JWP/Romeu. I'll be hoping for Romeu personally as he'll handle the physical side of the game better.

Judging by recent history the least likely <ok> I think that 8-0 has doomed us to an eternity of defeat at the SOL <laugh>

Think Big Sam will go with the following...

    Pants
    Yedlin Coates Rodwell Jones
    Johnson Larsson M'Villa Lens
    Defoe Fletcher

Think he is still looking for PVA after he went missing after the first goal at Everton....someone seen him on the pitch apparently.......

I don't know what he can do tbh mate. With JOS and Kaboul out, our options at the back just aren't up to scratch. I imagine we'll stick with the same formation but a back 5 of:

    ---------Coates--Brown--Rodwell---------
    Yedlin ----------------------------------Jones

As opposed to Jones as third CB and PVA LB which we tried at Everton. It's a small improvement imo but very small. Have a feeling we may get another hammering unless at least one returns from injury.

So, thanks to Marcus for helping with a ticket and Southampton FC for providing the transport <ok>

Decent deal tbh....... £30 for a reclining seat, wifi and free buffet plus a drink.

It'll be weird coming as an 'away supporter' ........ used to do it to Roker Park but this is the first time at the SOL.

The coach arrives at 1pm so plenty of time for a few pints at the Victory <party>

Don't have a problem giving 3-5-2 another go if after a week of training, Sam thinks it's worth it.
But please please please no chodwell at CB!
Firstly surely this has to be tried in reserve game(s) first,
and secondly, has he the heart? Can you see him throwing himself in the way of a shot, out muscling someone, anticipating. . . well, anything???

Didn't he set up our second goal? Was far more visible than Rodwell!

Neither one fill with me with much confidence to be honest. PVA's first role is to defend which at the moment he is pretty dire. Has absolute no idea how to mark someone. He is a defensive liability. Yes, he can get forward and create things from time to time but would prefer Jones in at the back. Rodwell seems also just to go missing in midfield. We bought him as a box to box player....could never remember him being that. My thought give him one last throw of the dice at CB....if it doesn't work....sell him....can't afford to carry him anyone. Use him in a swap deal.....jeez 10 million for the lad.....hope he can come through....

Mane will have a field day against our slow defence.

I don't really have a clue but would go 4 at the back and tell the full backs to not go past the half way line.

    Which 4 to play though???

Brown is done in my eyes, his legs have gone. You either play Coates and Jones (shudder) or Coates and Rodwell.
