Agreed, time for Watmore out right , McGeady left and whoever is chomping at the bit thru the middle, we have options there now, if the starter doesn't perform hook him on 60 mins.
I think Catts has to sit in cos our Centre Backs are very average against some poor forwards, need to strengthen there.
Still work to do with this team, to many draws at home are costing us top spot, its a fine balance and I am sure it will be corrected in the second half of the season, we cant afford to many players having off days though and its a while since McGuire and Gooch came to the party, the whole team are looking a bit off the pace and maybe this starting eleven needs tweaking, will the Honeyman critics start to think again, we live in hope. Nil Desperandum.
Ross said we don't need a striker !, that's why we are we are today tell me other than Maja where the goals are ?.
I think fans thought the introduction of Watmore and Wyke would instantly be the panacea for goals and us thrashing most teams. the reality is these two are returning from serious injury, esp. Duncan another they need game time to get them going, I'm sure this will happen but we need to be patient a little longer. as for the team yesterday I think the pressure is showing on the likes of Gooch, who hasn't been at the races most of this month. these are young relatively inexperienced players playing against physical opposition who put themselves about, it's no coincidence they picked up three yellow cards within ten minutes of going into the lead. we need to be a bit cleverer when in possession of the ball all over the pitch. were still in this promotion picture and there is a long way to go and if I'm honest at the start of the season I'd of been happy to be in this position. No need to panic just yet but January reinforcements are needed.
I am going to have to work hard at forgetting that shambles of a 'Game'. I saw nothing to qualify it as entertainment, (I even missed the goal due to people in front standing to let others through, driven to drink, heading for the bar). Games like this are shuffled into that part of my memory where they are deleted, never to be brought back to recollection. I HOPE this was a one off.
Look at the positives if you can’t win the game get something out of it. Lots of games going on at the moment so these sort of results. Yesterday was they half way stage so still got a long way to go this season. I would have settled to be in this position at the start of the season. We can take another big step forward at Blackpool. When I used to play football had never anytime for anyone on my team that used to cave in after losing a goal. If it needs to go to the last game of the season to go up then so be it but let’s keep focused on the end game here. There will be some good results and some indifferent ones from now till the end of season but we will be right in the mix at the end of the season. Better than other seasons by being at the right end of the league right? Onward and upward....
Can’t see anything other than that was a fair comment. We all know he is often obnoxious so respond to the post rather than to the poster - if you see what I mean. Fair do’s KTF
But we've scored in every league game this season. Maja has scored only around 13 of those. We have been getting goals from all over the team. When wyke gets fit he will hopefully contribute too.
Wyke, McGeady, Gooch, Maguire, Watmore, O9 (loved that Hefty ), Power, Honeyman Catts, maybe, we have scored in every game so far, surely our immediate problems are elsewhere. If we sell Maja he will be no doubt be replaced, but thats another story. Just read JR's comments on the Maja situation and they prove just what a great manager we have, no need to worry Monty.
The highlights reasonably capture the plot of yesterday's match. We were often unable to deliver the ball to players in threatening positions, and when we did, the shot was off target. But we were mostly in control of the match.
The Shrewsbury goal off of the free kick seemed a carefully designed play. They had three players relatively close together, and we surrounded them with 5 of ours. As the freekickers leg went back, the three Shrewsbury players came together. Our defenders reacted and converged, at 2:52 in the highlight video, or when the ball was about a yard off the kickers foot, O9 very effectively picks Baldwin off his man, the eventual goal scorer. All the freekick taker had to do was deliver the ball to the advancing cluster of attackers. Were the players complacent in setting for and defending the set piece, or is this something Ross needs to sort out on the practice field.

Was one of them his lad? He was on the pitch after the Bradford game with his son He’s properly taken to the club. One of my favourite players now
