Bye bye everyone, good luck. I'd love it if we can continue our rivalry in the championship, next season.

I have to go to bed soon, up early tomorrow, bright and early start at work.

I think all teams build up some sort of rivalry, after being in the same league, for a few years, don't you think?

I've always thought that Sunderland, had the best support of the 3 big clubs in the North east.

Newcastle hardly used to bring anyone to FP, before Keegan became manager and the cartoon army, but you guys always brought a big following.

That's the bugger of it isn't it, they do well and they leave, don't do well enough and they're no use. Can't say I enjoyed the game today but I can't argue with the result or the score.

And what was the point in bringing in the new CH if he can’t even make the bench when we need a CH. PP is hopeless, our squad should be pissing it this seas.

Thinking back to the start of the game, you could see quite quickly that Portsmouth were a bit bigger and quicker than us.

It's still a weakness of ours. Criminal that it's not been properly addressed for so many seasons.

Read most of the comments and looked at RR player ratings.

However my view has not changed that much, our defence that has been solid for the first few games fell apart yesterday and made mistakes and gave three goals away. It was bound to happen.

09 getting sent off did himself no favours, and the rest of the backs were not covering themselves in glory. Gooch is not a wingback...

Hume pick of the bunch, great assist for Wykes goal...

However as many have said, strikers who do not score... and it would be insulting to cart horses to say that was their speed, ie they all lack pace. We struggle atm to score more than one goal...

    We were found out...

Nothing that can really be done about dumping the existing so called strikers untill Jan, and bringing in new ones when hopefully the never ending takeover saga will be done. I cannot see why Kimp is not given a chance... nowt to lose

i have said a few times our defence had not really been tested, it is a lot easier to defend when a team struggles to attack...maybe our central lads have been better at covering for our defence i have no idea but a test was always going to be on the cards with pompey, why parky stuck with onien at the back is beyond me, two new defensive players brought in, our other regular defensive lads fit, i have praised onien time and again for his work but when all is said and done he is not a defender and should not be in there when more experienced defenders are available. (point one against parky)

to start games in exactly the same way, with players in exactly the wrong positions, with exactly the same tactics means you are going to get out-thunk soon and pompy was one team that was going to take advantage, while many will stick with the 'if it aint broke' routine football is a different beast and slight tweaks are always needed along the way.
