Enjoyed that. Attacking play in the first half was outstanding could have been out of site. Second half gave up a bit possession but thought we had a real Shape and strength about the team. Shouldn’t mention the ref but it’s become a standing joke how ****e they are

F*cking get in. That is all.

PS, I lied about the "that is all" bit. That ref was the most incompetent of incompetent c*nts I have ever witnessed in a game of football. I hope he is forced to deepthroat a cactus every night for the rest of his days.

Well, not sure how to sum that up, first 20/30 minutes we were very good and scored 2 very good goals.

2nd half, they scored from a corner (poor marking?) Not seen it again.

O'Brien hustled and pressed and created an open goal for himself... then the poor sod missed it.

Gooch went off half time injured. That well
Known phrase 'down to the bare bones' will be trotted out soon.

    The ref was awful..

Everyone really needs massive credit. Players and coaches. After our terrible run our last 6 games is 4 wins and 2 draws, joint second in the form table with Rotherham. That with key injuries and little room to manouvre from the bench.

I loved hearing fhe first goal was down to McAllister on the coaching ground. It looked like a training ground goal and these details can make a difference to points totals.

I have been critical of the likes of Bailey Wright but he is proving a quality defender again. He really does seem to have toughened us up a bit so we look better able to absorb pressure. Dujaku suddenly looks a different player as well. Pritchard is now showing just how much quality he has.

If we can keep digging out results, and playing front foot football, then come January we might get the likes of Cirkin back. That alone would change dramatically Johnsons bench options. We will add a couple of new lads as well to help everyone out. Imagine McGeady and ONien coming back in fresh for the last 12 games as well. It feels to me like we have the best shot at going up since we have been in the league. Lets keep pushing.

Totally. The dynamic of the team changed. The only thing I would pull LJ up was bringing Pritchard off for O'Brien. Maybe if he was to bring anyone off you could say Stewart and leave Broadhead up top to hoof the ball up for him to chase. But we got the 3 points so it's a bit of a mute point

Yes it was a bit of a strange substitution however we moan when he brings defenders on to close games down so fair play to LJ.

Well I really enjoyed that. Cracking game of football. 1st half absolutely terrific silky skills and well worked goals. Top notch half. 2nd half grafted and battled hard with some appalling decisions from the referee and his 2 assistants were equally as bad. Johnson was right the players got the crowd going first half and the crowd kept the players going 2nd half. Cracking atmosphere well done to everyone. Special mentions to Winchester and Dajuka awesome performances. A couple of weeks ago some were saying Johnson had lost the dressing room. Well he hasn’t the players have given him and us everything the last few games and that is all I ask for . Well and 3points. Well done lads enjoy your rest week. <party>

I was looking forward to seeing the comments on here about the ref after half time, honestly what a tosser he was.

Great game to watch and am proud of the lads for a number of reasons. Deserved more goals but we got the points.

My blood pressure just about down. Great first half should have probably scored a third. Hard battle in second but well done.

Ref was unbelievably bad in the second half

What a difference a week makes.

Watched on TV again and here is what I think I saw:

The referee was probs the worst Ive seen - it was like lets have a sweepstake on his next decision. No consistency. No clue.
The fight for promotion is definitely there
The class and skill to win games is there
There is still an immaturity to our game, due to the youth, which leads to mistakes
I think with a Steve Bould, Catts, Gary Bennett, Lorik Cana type of character we would pish this league

I think I read somewhere LJ would like to spend approx £1 mil on improving the pitch. Until we can put games to bed can we buy 48000 de-fibs and put them under every f*ckers seat please? Approx £15000. Why do we make things so difficult for ourselves.

I'd been into work today and got home before kick off when the missus decided to go out with the daughter too go shopping leaving me to watch the match in peace. She got back just in time for me to shout obscenities at the TV about the referee about the free kicks he was awarding Plymouth and not giving us the obvious ones and what made it worse apparently was I had not touched a drop and was completely sober!

It’s been a rough few weeks. I criticised LJ more than most but let’s give him credit eh? Injuries left, right and John Mensah too. Come on Sunderland.

I would have brought younger on and pushed Doyle to left back. Mind you I run a team who last week were 2-0 up with 10 mins to go and pressure was building. I moved to 5 at the back and we drew 2-2. I got absolute grief from everyone from club committee to lady who does the teas <laugh><laugh> the bloody ref found 9 mins of added time out of nowhere mind which was my defence and they got their equaliser om 98 mins! If i had known there were 19 mins left rather than 12 or 13 I may have kept 2 up front and hitting the corners for a bit longer. Today seem team won 1-0 and we held on for dear life for 30 mins. I always make an honest decision but sometimes get it wrong. I have a brilliant captain at centre half that really helps me. Our comms during the match is awesome but when it goes belly up the tea lady alwaye serves me last and him first <laugh><laugh><laugh>

It's a fine line. Best form of defense is attack but how much do you attack to protect what you have?

now there are three players who were getting pelters not long ago...wright had not played much but has come in and seems to be happier as more of a wing back and improving game upon game, dajaku was getting called for being too weak and not doing enough to warrant a start, have to admit i was unsure if he should start games but was a great sub but again he has settled and stepped up, causing problems and creating and now does not look so weak, pritchard really did not show why he was brought here, mainly down to injuries/covid/game time but now he is up to speed i doubt anyone would leave him out of the first 11.

i also think, since our recent blip, we could add almost any player to the above as all have stepped up in one way or another and as you rightly say when we get the other lads fit, we should have our best chance to get out of this league
