The FA always seem to back their man even when he get's it so wrong it's blatant for all to see - Michael Turner got sent off by Andre Marriner in a challenge where he jumped and headed the ball and Gareth Barry jumped into his arm. We appealed and got the ban extended. He was, in the ref's report, sent off for "use of excessive force" so the FA backed Marriner up!
Now that was shocking. Not the fact that our appeal was turned down but the fact we were further punished for wasting the panels time.
I understood the rule, it was to stop people appealing decisions that were obviously correct. But Turners sending off was so obviously wrong. To get punished with an extended ban was disgusting.
Was it in the same season Gerrard made the most blatant (intended) elbow to face on one of ours , close to the ref, and didn’t even get spoken to ?
I know people say there is never a conspiracy , but sure it was the FA who suggested to us that it was obviously wrong, only then to ignore that and give additional punishment. Sure also that it was the last time a ban got extended for failed appeal
That incident was a shocker, I watched Barry carefully after that, and great player that he was, he was also a real crafty, cynical cheat, its amazing how some players can get away with it. There you are, not only scapegoating, but resurrecting conspiracy theories now, football eh don't you just love it.
I would have given a red. But then we need consistency. The foul was cynical ( and stupid) and all cynical fouls should result in a red imo. On that basis McGuire and one of their lads should have seen red. Thats what p*sses me off more. The ref was utter utter w*nk.
Power basically has a 4 match ban. He's not allowed to play tonight but it doesnt contribute to his 3 match ban. Strange????
I think the pulling of a shirt should be a red or retrospective ban. Blatant cheating and a red/ban would stop people doing it.
Well Power's ban has been upheld, however he's also not available for selection tonight so in my book that's a four match ban. what was I saying about the FA.......
