Moretti is cheap here and also a brew called 86 ....

.... I also have cheap local bottles of whatever is on offer, as long as it's chilled it's fine for 'last orders' <laugh>

Enjoy the weekend and stay safe. Cracking thread as always . Very big weekend the type we used to love when supporters were in the grounds. A big crowd at the sol followed by a great away support for Peterborough game. Fingers crossed it’s not far away again. Tight weekend but would be happy with 4 points from the 2 games. Win at home draw away. Enjoy everyone.

    Lee Johnson Presser:
"Jordan Jones is in a good place, he’s had four days training and looks bright and sharp, so he will come back into the squad."
“Denver is not a million miles away - we have a decision to make regarding whether or not to include him in the squad, but I’ll speak with him.”
“Jake Vokins and Bailey Wright are still out, and the others are longer-term injuries.”
“Bailey is about a week away from training if all goes to plan, we’ll look to get him back in training next Friday.
“At that point we’ll be able to access his minutes and look at the Under-23s’ schedule to get him some game time.
“Tom Flanagan has had two different opinions on a foot injury, so we need to weigh up whether or not to get a third.
“He’s also nursing a hamstring injury, but he was out running today, although he won’t be available in the short-term.”

So - Jones is either straight back in to the team or on the bench and Hume might be on the bench on Good Friday and those will be the only changes

This is not on the SAFC club site but he also said:
"Jake (Vokins) was the one who picked up Covid, and after a very good game at Accrington away he then started to feel quite poorly, Southampton then arranged for him to have an ECG and there was a slight flicker on that."
"When people get tested for Covid you don't - unless you are playing the Premier League - necessarily get checked [with an ECG] because there is a high cost to it."
"But they [Southampton] checked him and he probably just needs a week to settle down, and then I think he'll have another ECG next week and we'll go from there and look at his return to play protocol."
"I don't think he will be out that long because he looks fine, he feels fine - he is frustrated more than anyone because he actually feels good."
"But this is the right thing to do, given that Covid is an unprecedented situation.
"His previous ECGs, at medicals and what have you, have always been clear so I don't think it's a long-term problem - no-one is panicking in that respect."

I love the way Johnson is so absolutely blasé about injuries ...

... he may as well just sit there grinning and singing 'I'm a little teapot' <laugh>

Yeah we've had loads - I just added the bit about Vokins - that sounded quite serious.
Any idea who else tested positive?

Nowt to do with anything but there's summat that does my head in ...

    ... any guesses?

    No?

    OK, I'll tell you.

It's when some player from Hull or Peterborough or Lincoln, who absolutely no fukka has ever heard of, comes back from injury ....

.... and someone says 'Ah noooooo, Player X is back from injury and we have to play them next!!!!!"

FFS, if they were any good we'd have signed them and condemned their loser club to the back of the urinal.

(Yes, I've had a drink ... so sue me and I'll counter sue for hen teasing and grazing sheep on my land.)

We'll certainly take some stopping if we pull it off. Weeks ago I would have thought it unlikely, but now I'm very confident that we can.

Expect a tough game tomorrow, but we will prevail. 2-1 and on to Peterborough.

Another great read RTB. Thank You!

They seem a decent sensible bunch.
All the stats are there to mull over.
The fact they haven't had the double done on them as one of their posters mentions and we've been breaking hoodos and trends lately might bite him on the arse,.

But I've accepted we could lose another game before the end and these could be tricky on the day, especially fighting for the play offs.
I agree with one of their posts that us and Hull are the best two in the league,
If Johnson had of came earlier we might of been walking away with it now.
Then again if me aunty had a cock she'd be me uncle.

I think we are good enough to win every game now, we've shown that.
But there's always that off day.
I think Peterborough will lose more points than us anyway.

Whichever our next opponents there are people who'll find them 'a banana skin' which is fair enough.

It was Bristol Rovers because of Barton, Lincoln because they're better away from home, Accrington because it was just after Wembley, Tranmere because of Wembley, Portsmouth because they're a bogey team, etc etc etc ....

... Oxford have lost 13 games, 3 of their last 5 and are nowhere near promotion.

Balls to fearing them and thinking it'll be one of our toughest tests.

They lost to Northampton f***ing Town a week ago ffs, time for us to get a grip and smash teams like this all over Monkwearmouth.

If we can't there's absolutely no point being promoted to the Championship.

We're like a kid with past trauma. After years of BS, false dawns and "this is Sunderland" it's going to take a while for that creeping feeling of doubt when we play to fully go away

That's all gone for me mate ...

... I have neither time, patience nor inclination to miss out on all of this.

I was in a coma for two days after our Wembley win and could enter an extended drink induced hibernation if we're promoted.

I know some people are already worrying about our squad if we go up, our squad if we reach the PL, the derby games, etc etc etc.

Balls to all that, I'll go mental if we score tomorrow ....

... if some people choose not to, because it isn't the PL, that's their loss tbh.

Haway the Lads, win this game and the next and the next and the next ... this is the here and now and I'm loving it.
