A good point for us, but Sunderland were so, so poor. They never really looked like scoring, bar the penalty. We definitely deserved 3 points for that performance.
A point gained but more importantly a decent away performance, which is quite incredible considering the circumstances
Well, from what I could make out from a very bad stream, I feel a little bit hopeful for the first time in weeks. It is hard to believe that this Sunderland team will get three points more than us over the last 8 games. They were pretty woeful.
Very impressed by how we did that. A nice point away from home, in a more interesting style than usual. Whitaker looked exciting when he came on, glad he's back. In conclusion, F**k you to the ref, F**k you to the linesman, and an extra special big F**k you to the possible sons of bitches who hopefully just lost a load of money betting on and then trying to fix, a Sunderland win!
I'm convinced 11 v 11 we would have one that. Nevertheless, given the circumstances, the point is decent. It is a shame that the Bramble slip didn't happen when Kamara was still on the pitch. I never fancy Holt in those one-on-one situations.
Proud of the lads and our performance, but I am absolutely fuming and annoyed at the officials. I know it's not an easy job, but to get pretty much every big decision wrong is disgraceful.
I think you're looking at it all wrong. If you start with the proposition that they wanted Sunderland to win, they gave a masterly performance of manipulating and sculpting the ebb and flow of the game towards that end. Not their fault Sunderland couldn't score in open play if you glued a ball onto their face and dropped a goal net over their head.
Battersea, I can't work out if you are being serious or not with your allegations of match-fixing. If not, as I think you are, then fair enough. But if yes, then to be honest, I can't really see where you are coming from; IMO Bunn decisions correct, other two penalty decisions both incorrect IMO but very tough decisions to make.
Chris Foy was the ref. Chris Hoy would have made a better job of it. my opinions, no handball by Bunn, so no sending off. If the Seb incident had happened to a Sunderland defender we would have been screaming for a penalty, so fair enough though could have been turned down. Roses was a nailed on penalty and should have got at least a yellow . but the great thing was it was a real fighting performance from the team, and both our fullbacks were immense. Garridos best game for quite a while.
No DM, just blowing of steam with an attempt at indignant comedy i suppose. I agree with Bunn's decision but its still not clear cut. Yes it hits his arm, but theres two things to weigh up when deciding if his actions were deliberate. His arms were in 'an unnatural position' which would indicate hand to ball, and if he was stopping a clear goal scoring opportunity he should get a red. However, if the ref had adjudged him raising his hands to protect himself from the player bearing down at him, it wasn't intentional.
Definitely accidental, but it has denied a Sunderland player a clean run on goal otherwise. Of course he was trying to protect himself, but if he had got the arm up and out the way, it would of hit his chest and probably rebounded onto the Sunderland player, who knows what then?
Much better performance and I really think we shoould have had a penalty. I think that was Holt's 5th 'yellow' and our next match is in 2 weeks, so hopefully Pilks will be back for that one.
Thats right. the 5 yellow card cut off was on 31st dec. He needs to get 10 now for action to be taken (which would be a two match ban)
Don't think its just Foy having a shocker, just watching Wigan v Newcastle and McManaman has just halved there full back with a truely awfull challenge and not even a foul given !!! The lads off on a stretcher looks a bad one, Mark Halsey hang your head in shame sir!
