My worst ever was going to Portsmouth when we lost the lead in the last few seconds.

The lads dropped me off at Gatwick at 11pm for a flight the next morning at 10.30am ........ how I wasn't arrested I'll never know, I was ****ing barking mad by the time I boarded!

Will it work? Most definitelty not.

Is it an embarrassment? I'd suggest not. Rightly or wrongly a group of our supporters are unhappy with how the club is being run (I'd suggest they're rightly unhappy) and other than stopping short of not attending the games what else can they do in order to show their dissatisfaction?

The answer is nothing, the only way to remove the owner would be to stop going to games, stop buying the match day programs, stop buying any club merchandise for a period of 6-9 months. Not only is this not a viable option as the fans would suffer more than they already are, there is also no gaurantee that it would force Ashley to sell up.

Our fans have done plenty of emmbarrasing things, just as fans at every club have but this isn't one of them.

A handful of attention seeking supporters trudging through the rain will make absolutely no difference.

It will only further the idea, that many people have, that Newcastle some Newcastle supporters will do anything to get their face on the media.

The protests were non-existent during the European qualification & participation and would die again if the same happened or there was a Wembley appearance.

The 'Cockney Mafia' is only the enemy when the team's doing badly

Sorry mate but i fail to see it, imho it is a pointless exercise which will acheive the grand sum of nothing apart from getting the pall bearer on the news again

Football is a fickle sport my friend. Rarely (pretty much never) in life, let alone sport do people complain when things are going well.

Ellis Short was untouchable at the start of the season. However after sacking Di Canio after only 7 games plenty of you on here began to have doubts and ask questions of him and it took only 7 games. People questioning his trigger happy ways, the fact that you break even most transfer windows etc. I'm not here to wum or anything, just saying that I don't think what they're doing is embarrassing and pointing out that ALL football fans are fickle.

It won't be effective in the slightest, but I view it more as a group of supporters fighting for something they believe in rather than something negative.

I was one of very few questioning Ellis mate, I was doing before the start of the window and my main beef was the advice he's taken on previous contracts. He's realised the error of his way and reduced costs. I still have a moan about the contracts but it's not aimed at Ellis. That's a minority on an internet forum. Hardly a physical campain Mate. Not saying your cause is unworthy or questioning your motives. Just think it's a bad example for comparison.

Smug has a point though, Look at Blackburn's situation. Those were real protests with large numbers. Got them nowhere. Think you've got two choices. Bend over and take it or find a buyer.

    Exactly, which makes it pointless.

Don't you think all these 'Cockney Mafia' banners, mock funerals, 'boycoutts', this latest protest etc make Newcastle supporters look more and more like Liverpool.

They now have a reputation as 'candle burning scarf laying whingers' that they'll never shake off.

Newcastle are starting to appear as 'media whores' who will do anything to get on Look North ...... I'd say that's embarrassing mesel.

So if a bigger, stronger bloke starts beating you up, and you know he's bigger and stronger would you try and hit him back?

I'm guessing that you would, but using your logic it would be pointless as you wouldn't cause him any damage so I can only assume you'd sit back and take a beating???

Getting Sombrero worked up eh, I take my 'hat ' off to all !, Oct 27 th stadium of light 3.10 Steven fletcher comes on after a lengthy injury crisis, score 0-0 1 minute to go the ball is played in superbly by Adam Johnson ; Fletch rises above the mags defence and scores ! the ground erupts into a deafening noise then the whistle blows.

Neil Quinn formed Drumaville from a group of horse racing friends and colleagues. He met Ellis Short on a golf course in the US. If you don't have a man of influence to represent you and the club and go and use that influence to find someone to make a bid then It's the bend over option. Why isn't Alan Shearer doing more. It's more than a club to him, it's his home town. You've nobody with any standing representing you. It's too easy for Ashley imo.

Ashely doesn't care if the fans like him as long as he's getting his money.

You're dead right regarding the supporters needing a a representive with ties to the club to find a buyer. I think we just have to ride this one out personally, I think Ashley will move on to Rangers once they're back in the Scottish Prem as he'll then be able to get his brand all over Europe via the champions league.

I do think in 3-5 years he'll have sold up but not because anybody has forced him to. It'll be because he'll want to take over Rangers.

By your logic there will be 50,000, including yourself, boycoutting the march ....... Ashley would dismiss that as a vote of confidence in him, if he could be bothered.

But he won't even notice will he?

If I was in your shoes I'd support the club and avoid making the supporters look like whinging self important knackers.

Any potential buyer would look at the death threats, mock funerals, general abuse, banners & bedsheets etc and think twice.

Yes mate but do you think he'll give a **** who he sells to? His legacy of destruction could go on for years following the sale. 3 to 5 years to find a decent representative to find the right buyer who'll meet his valuation...

    or...

Just leave it to mike and let him sell to the first Venky or Vincent Tan who meets his valuation (who'll probably try to rename you and add a bit of colour to brighten up your crest and shirts). You need a Quinny to start preparing for this. Think your protests are misguided myself. You need to find a buyer imo.

The protests are pointless in my opinion. It will be a vocal minority but a minority nonetheless. Ashley cares very little about what we think. If he earns his money off of us he is happy. Strap in and enjoy the ride. Under management we are nothing but lower mid table but they will leave and hopefully things will pick up.
