I didn't want the maggot banned. Rivalries are all about piss taking, surely?

It makes us look a bit fragile... like we can't take it from them. He was boring but harmless.

Lazy? Sounds rather unprofessional. Take it you mean players rather than coaching staff?

Any news on share changes to cheer me up?

With only 359 posts in 2 and a bit years I'd say he was more of a regular poster on here than you, granted with a lot less likes........"Our board" <laugh>

A bad night at the office all round really.

The writing was on the wall early doors, our movement looked poor because they held their shape and then when passes were on we delayed them, or the pass would be right but the movement wrong, or the movement right but the pass was sloppy. The scene was set, we looked ponderous.

The 10th min is a sliding doors moment, we sit in the NEC and the tackle on Winchester looked naughty - you always tend to go off the reaction of the players and the bench though and everyone was up. Having seen the still image of the tackle since its an absolute glaring error by the officials. Its high, studs up and the ball is long gone. 10th min, 1st or 90th its a straight red card.

Onto their first goal. We give away the freekick and three are standing oblivious to the quick one, poor concentration. Its cleared and comes back to Maguire - lets be honest theres no way that should be going in from there, poor positioning from Patterson. No qualms on the celebration, he doesn't like our manager and isn't the shrinking violet type.

Goal stirs us a little, at least we managed to muster an opportunity with the keeper saving a Stewart header but the perfect storm was already there - a side coming to be really rigid and frustrate us and then you give them a goal to hang onto. Its been a bad recipe for us at home every season in this league, we can't concede first at home!

Second half, a slight change of personnel. For me thats how we should have started the game, Winch at RB and Embleton deeper. I guess he felt maybe that wasn't combative enough but Gooch has a nasty habit of sloppy errors at full back, see Oxford at home.

We have a little couple of minute spell before Bramall goes down and the ****housery starts, the leg looks like it needs amputating until he sprints back on like a gazelle.

Then we get the second series of errors. Too easily played through, Flanagan misses his tackle on the slide and Maguire is in. Winchester is wrong side and is just trying to do anything really to put him off. Maguire is wily and knows hes there and just puts the brakes on enough so Winchester barges him - over they go. Red and a penna and we're right up against it. Cool finish from Maguire, but he loves these sorts of nights doesn't he?

O' Brien comes on to groans, but lets be fair Jack Diamond had struggled. Smashing it up at Harrogate but League One is a different beast. To be fair to AOB he produced a bit of quality that got us back into it - an early low ball from the right which Pritchard gets the jump on their defenders and is felled. We all scream for a red but in reality we just want the numbers evened up. Decent save but its squirms away and Stewart bundles in no. 18.

Now we have a spell, the ball gets moved quicker, theres urgency and we look dangerous. Stewart beats the keeper in the air and its looping in only for it to be cleared off the line. Embleton hits one from distance that the keeper has to shuffle round the post. Hume hits one which takes a deflection but scurries agonisingly wide with the keeper planted. We have momentum!

Corner, cleared. Cries of shoot - but its a massive swing and a miss. They're away 3 on 1 and of course its Maguire in behind for the hat trick, its a really cool finish and his role of the panto villain is done.

Some shenanigans at the end all borne from frustration, a bad evenings work. For me, we played into their hands and three really silly basic errors leading to goals that were in all honesty avoidable. You can perhaps get a result carrying one or two but not carrying five or six like we did tonight.

Poor, frustrating - typical Sunderland. I guess now its about a reaction, get lads back in on Sat and get back to winning ways!

Fook sake, missed this. I thought we were playing Saturday.
    <doh>

Read through some of the thread and can't comment on our performance but didn't sound encouraging :(

We need to bounce back straight off now otherwise we're playing catch up big time.

At least Bruce couldn't blame his sacking at yours on being disliked by the crowd because he was a geordie!

At least hatred of Steve Bruce is one thing we can both agree on! That and the fact that our clubs have both escaped from very unpopular owners.

Think he blamed it on being seen as a mackem this time, after all it was never his fault.

As for owners I agree. I actually had a thread on ours where I said the funniest thing for me with regards that Sunderland Till I die Netflix show wasn't the fact you got relegated, it was those 2 arseholes (Methven and Donald) got their just rewards. Are they both 100% out the club now?

I'm just glad Ashley's gone. I don't care about the political side of it at all. Point me to a government that doesn't have a dark history or dark secrets. It was nice to actually believe at 3pm on Saturday we may have a cat in hells chance of a cup run and dream - that lasted 90 mins <laugh>.

I'm sure you lads are the same.

    @ToonArmy1892 ?

He's either a sad tìt or an eight year old kid.

I like a bit crack with you's on "warm glow" but don't ruin your match threads.
Tell her I'll put the fat bitch over my knee and slap her arse raw ;) <laugh> :emoticon-0172-mooni

No mate, I wouldn't want them as owners, (your regime) honestly. ;)

    You must be really desperate.
I've enjoyed my years supporting Sunderland regardless of our failings.
The other supporters made up for that ;)

Nope, both still have shares but minority holdings. The actual percentages haven't been made public.

Methven attends games but Donald keeps well clear.

Keep on dreaming, a lot of the time it's all we fans have!
