been here about 5 months or so...

to give a little perspective to his tenure, when he arrived we had several first teamers out with injury, there are still players he has not seen on the pitch in anger as many have been recovering from a long lay off and getting up to speed, most of the season we have had to shoe horn a couple of midfielders into defensive positions...he had 2 games a week so had to try to get his ideas/style into the squad while having no real time to work with them then within a couple of weeks he had to deal with a covid outbreak where everyone had to isolate.

granted, all other squads had to deal with the 'loaded games' but most had a good pre-season and probably last season to work with squads, he actually got a bit of a tune out of them and they managed a 15 game unbeaten run although the football was fairly dire.

our fans, understandably, are very short of patience these days after 10 years of total rubbish mainly stinking the premier out then the double relegation but i think most realise he took on a hell of a job and really needs more time before we judge him too harshly.

I am no fan of LJ his mistakes are their for all to see, not sure if we should peddle him tbh., its a route we have gone down too often, but if this data led process is anything to go by, it wont be long before changes are made. We will all just have to wait and see, what really matters are the results on the field and they have not been good, even the most blinkered, and that's not you by the way, should be able to see that. <ok>

You are a fcuking joke, one of the big Big reasons we are here is because of manager turnover. Nobody has any divine rights to be playing premier league. You bring a whole new meaning to " Sunderland supporter ".

I must admit he's disappointed in the run in but so have the rest of the squad. However, I'd have brought him on yesterday over Diamond who unfortunately done nothing and drifted in to the middle a little too often and, for me, I seen him on a few occasions 'hiding' behind one of the Lincoln players instead of offering for the ball.

I do think it was criminal to bring Flanagan on though instead of him and to say it was because of his height 'in case' we got a free kick was an absolutely atrocious decision. He should have brought Jones on to run at tired legs and open up the play and the blokes got a great shot in him. Rather that than a potential free kick.

IIRC it was hoofball time when Flanagan came on, so a definite argument for bringing him on as opposed to Jones.

That would be a huge mistake. Besides that, I am sure Johnson will be given a crack at next season. Hope he does well with his own group of players and proves a few of his doubters wrong..... me included, as I'm one of those who is still waiting to be convinced that he is the right man for the job.

He's taller than Jones, that is the argument. For what it's worth, he's not one I'd keep. However, seeing as he's an Northern Ireland international, no doubt in my mind that there'd be plenty league one clubs that would like to have him. My point was merely defending a manager who hasn't had nearly enough time in a bizarre topsy-turvy season.

We are going to get this sort of story from the press, law of averages in action, nothing more.

I've not had a look nor will I be, it must be a right mess over da road. Defeat and failure is indeed a bitter pill to swallow.
