People from Middlesbrough turning up? I really hope the away fans have a great day out and see their team score a goal. The Sunderland team will get a great welcome even though the 'heroes' won't be playing. I'm looking to the calm after the storm, I still feel knackered after Wednesday.
If we beat Kidderminster today, we are 2 games from another Wembley appearance. Funny how a season can take such an incredible turn.
SUNDERLAND’S fringe players have been reminded that the FA Cup fourth round tie against non-league Kidderminster Rovers is an important game for the club. There may be a bit of an ‘after the Lord Mayor’s show’ feel to the game in the wake of the euphoric Capital One Cup semi-final victory over Manchester United on Wednesday which sends the club to Wembley for the first time in more than two decades. But head coach Gus Poyet - who will ring the changes from the midweek match - says every player selected has to be professional and see the game for the opportunity it represents. “I’m not going to make 11 changes but it’s going to be close,” he said. “I thought about making 11 changes the other day, but you need to make a team and it needs to have a shape, so it won’t be a complete change. “But all the players who play are going to be first-team players - we are not talking about a team of U21s or U18s - they will be first-teamers. “And they need to go and perform. “There are going to be players who have a great opportunity to play in the most famous cup competition in the world and it’s up to them to take it.” He also pointed out that while the Kidderminster game will be seen as relatively low key, Sunderland players involved in the match have a chance to put a marker down. “Between now and the Capital One Cup final, there are plenty of games,” he said. “Anything can happen in terms of injuries and suspensions. “There’s a big possibility that someone who played in the semi-final on Wednesday night will miss out on the final for some reason or another. “And somebody who was not expecting to play - maybe someone who starts against Kidderminster - will end up playing in the final instead. “So all the players that play they need to put themselves forward and show me that I can count on them if needs be.”
Team news up Sunderland: Ustari; Celustka, Roberge, Diakite, Vergini; Cattermole, Ba, Larsson, Mavrias, Giaccherini; Altidore Subs: Watmore, Ki, Gardner, Pickford, Colback, O'Shea, Borini. Kidderminster: Lewis; Vaughan, Demetriou, Storer, Byrne; Gash, Johnson, Jackman, Morgan-Smith; Dyer, Gowling Subs: Ladapo, Aloi, Dunkley, Malbon, Angus, Gittings, Nathan Vaughan. Thought Watmore may have got a start. Ba Starts though. Not sure what the back four arangement will be either. 3 at the back with Mavrias and Celuska advancing wing backs? Or Roberge to left back? Think Dossana may have played his last game for us. He's evil and ****e so can **** off as far as I'm concerned.
I was particulalry useless at work on Friday. Just wiped out after the adrenaline rush/roller-coaster of Wednesday. I've dropped to about cloud 5 by now...another win today and some goals would be nice.
thanks. Kidderminster: Lewis, Vaughan, Demetriou, Storer, Byrne, Gash, Johnson, Jackman, Morgan-Smith, Dyer, Gowling.
I'm quite nervous about this game, love an early goal to settle the nerves and keep the momentum for Stoke!
