I assume we paid four at the back cos Sunderland had 3 up top. Anchibe was playing very wide right and someone else wide left (though was dropping further back), so without four at the back, would have been gaps all over the place inside. I'm sure Anchibe started wide left but swapped to bully Tymon. Overall he stood up to him well, but I don't think was blameless for their second. I'm sure Robbo would have put him on the back foot a bit more, and he (Anchibe) broke his ribs a couple of weeks ago, I know what Stuart Pearce would have done.
I'd have happily given Tymon his debut on left of a midfield 5 with Snodgrass on the right of it...problem(s) solved
He's an incredible prospect in goal. We won't hold on to him for too long. He'd do incredibly well at City. I think we'll likely drop. We can't rely on Defoe outscoring what our woeful defence concedes. Just good to see a bit of fight that was lacking before the Bournemouth game. If we want to stay up we need to invest in our defence in January.
Speaking of which, how bad was that Bournemouth one at Stoke? It's so obvious sometimes that refs won't make decisions against certain home teams. That was as clear a penalty as you'll ever see but it's Stoke and they're quite loud when it comes to moaning at refs so...
Just for Castro. I was told by a Grimsby fan today they took 350 to Plymouth on satdee. Good, bad, average?? They beat top of the table too. Apparently they're taking some decent following to all aways now.
They have had some more impressive ones than that recently. As a percentage of a home gate that would equate to us taking about 1,400, less than we took the shorter distance to Bournemouth.. However their average away following this year has been just over 1,000. Which is about one in five of their home crowds travelling away, which is quite impressive.
Meh I was building up to that one... He reckons they take a 1000 most places. He also said the atmospheres **** at home, singers all spread out etc aways are miles better.
I get to Blunder Park couple of times per season when I'm taxiing my neighbour to night games that his son can't make - for a small crowd (comparitavely speaking) their ''**** atmosphere'' is something the modern KC can only aspire to**. **unless of course it's improved massively in my two season sabbatical.
The old boy next door has been going since the late 50's - when/if they move he'll be happy to go to the new ground, most of the guys I have a pint with though are anti-moving ...... takes all sorts, a bit like when we moved I guess? You don't get a wall of noise at Gy but, when the youngsters in the Pontoon Stand get going they make a fair old racket.
Perhaps they could ask Snodders? Oh, but wait, coaches don't discuss tactics and positions with the players, apparently ...
My uncle almost never missed a home game at City, for many decades, but he never saw a single game at the KC (he refused to sit down at a football match).
