    Barnsley game is monstrous.

Luton need to collapse on us, which could happen but looks unlikely, Barnsley remain ours to catch after tonight.

    Absolute hulk of a game.

I wasn't going to Barnsley but I think I'll have to make the effort now.

Having a captain makes a hell of a difference, and Catts being back last night, putting in a Man of the Match performance, too, was so important for us, but there will always be some that are so intent on having a target to have a go at, they refuse to 'see' any good <doh>

We have hardly won without him, as I said before the Stanley match, and we just need him to stay fit . . . . to lead us to where we all (even Haslam) want to be :emoticon-0105-wink:

2nd penalty would normally have been retaken. There was a player from both sides nearly got to the goal before the ball. They were almost in line with the penalty taker when he took it.

Hadn't noticed real time!! Agree totally! Cattermole started his run early which prompted their player to run too!! There's very few penalties which are taken without someone in the box but that was taking the piss a little!!

We look good when on the front foot, but I'm really concerned about how leaden footed we look in defense. I was hoping that a more effective midfield with cats and leadbitter would tighten things up but didn't look like it last night.

Aye, refs normally turn a blind eye to it but that was extreme.

Disagree totally - we handled most of theirt attacking threat until it got to the centre halves - Jimmy Dunne looks slower than me and can;t pick a pass. I think the lads confidence is shaken as he looked OK at first but he's really struggled of late. I'd go back to Baldwin and Flanaghan personally.

Catts and Leadbitter did very well in front of them - both picking out some lovely passes and Catts popping up with a goal (2 goals from corners too!!)

As I say, I think those 2 would start every week for me. Cattermole is very well suited to a role a little in front of Leadbitter and, despite those who think otherwise, he can pick a pass. Flanaghan was the best centre half on the pitch yesterday by a country mile. Way better than Dunne and either of the Gills players. Dunne makes our defence look weak. That said, if not for 2 very lucky deflections which fell perfectly for their strikers, they wouldn't have scored

    Onwards and upwards, man <doh> . . . . I presume :emoticon-0100-smile

It's like one of those idiotic/attention seeking Wandy (where is he?) things, isn't it (with his stupid ETU endings) :emoticon-0136-giggl . . . . let's not start that again :emoticon-0145-shake

Our recent record at Barnsley is hardly encouraging but I live in hope that we can turn it around next month.

Great result last night, and the main thing I have took from the game is the bottle Grigg showed in stepping up to take that first penalty..

He just needed off the mark I think he will fly now, he’s been snatching.

We know we’ve a goal scorer there you just want a quick goal, he will be golden now, and right in time, massive few weeks coming.
