Would he have played as good as he has under Parkinson? Would he have played in the same position under Parkindon? Would he have been happy playing under Parkinson? I think not, so he would have probably made no difference.
I think he congratulated O'Brien but he happened to be in the middle of all the other players so couldn't get to him hugs the group. He then walks away and realises that O'Brien probably didn't even see him as he hugged him from behind so goes back to make sure he acknowledges the goal. If he is a bit disappointed the chance didn't fall for him to score shows where his head is at, how much he is enjoying scoring and how good he is feeling about his game. Can't complain about that.
Good point we have players who did **** all under Parkinson looking like some of the best players in this league now. Johnson is clearly decent man manager and Mcgeady needs that.
Parkinsons last team iirc didn't have McGeady, Burge, Power, Sanderson or O'Brien in it ... ... all players Johnson has obviously improved. Perhaps they're playing above themselves but it's still an achievement ... ... we now look greater than the sum of our parts.
Are they paying above themselves or hitting their full potential. We certainly aren't used to seeing managers getting the very most out of his players are we. Parkinson sums up Donald doesn't he? The cheap option to keep the club going until he can sell. Parkinson didn't play those players because he couldn't get the best from them. The team must have been over the moon when he was sacked.
As I've said elsewhere Parkinson played both Grigg and Graham in front of O'Brien. Last night he started and finished a move, for the first goal, that neither of those could have managed. If you watch the goal back and follow his movement you can see he means business.
We've got to be thankful for small mercies mate. If they had played all season, Parky might still be here.
Only 7 points behind Lincoln. When we beat them, it'll mean we just need to make up 4 points from the other 16 games. Very achievable if you ask me.
I'd like to have been a fly on the wall when PPs departure was announced to the players, bet there was some fist punching the air and some big grins all round cos the change is palpable in what were seeing now from the players.
It is..its unbelievable the difference. I've haven't seen us play with this level of commitment and confidence for a long time.
At Christmas Portsmouth won at Hull and were top while we 9th, they were 7 points ahead of us and flying ... ... they've just been beaten at home by Blackpool and are 1 point above us. As last night proves absolutely anything can happen.
Donnys game being postponed won't help them either, they have to fit two more fixtures in than we have as the season reaches its last few weeks.
And Sanderson was on a yellow card! A promising Fleetwood break came to an abrupt halt - just before the half ended.
