"I’d like to thank Lee Johnson for winning our first trophy at Wembley since 1973. It will be interesting to see how he does in his next role."

Agreed mate, that was no small achievement and there's no taking that away from him. I woke up as happy the next day as I ever have done.

No hard feelings from me towards him at all on a personal level I liked him throughout.

    <applause> RTB

    Have to win...

Team selection will be interesting, what with new players in and a new interim coach selecting the team!

Will it be different from what LJ would have picked?

Think Defoe will feature from the bench, I'd be looking to bring Pritchard back in and possibly rest Neil and Doyle

    I'd go:

    Hoffmann
    Hume Wright Batth Cirkin
    Evans (c) Matete
    Roberts Pritchard Clarke
    Stewart

Subs: Patterson, Doyle, Winchester, Neil, Dajaku, DEFOE, Embleton

Seems the perfect game to see what Hume, Matete, Roberts and Clarke can do.

I like this team. If Wright is fit, then id definitely start Hume at RB. Roberts and Clark were the only real 'plus' points of note at Bolton - they looked OK in their limited time on the pitch.

I think those two give us the option of freshening things up. Too many players (Neil, Gooch, Doyle) have played almost every game without a break. Time to use the squad and also send a message to some of them that they aren't guaranteed their places any more

Lets be honest, if playing a pretty poor Donny team, at home with the current buzz around the place isn't the ideal opportunity to hoy them in, then im not sure when it would be.

Terrible thread mate, not a patch on the pre-match rambles but I expect you tried <laugh>

Talking to a mate today who changed my mind on this game. I wanted to start with roughly the same team and Defoe on the bench ... he disagrees.

His reasoning in that there'll never be an easier game this season for Defoe to start, he'll be as fit as Doncaster and we need to carry the current momentum from the off.

I have to agree that it's better to start with Defoe, and go for it, than bring him on in desperation with 30m left ...

... draws are no use to us now so let's forget about visions and philosophies, even tactics to a degree.

Get Pritchard, Defoe and Stewart up the pitch and play the game in the final third. Launching the ball may not be pretty but neither is passing the ball around the back line until we lose it or launch it.

Leave the defence to defend, bypass the midfield and get them running forwards to back up the attack.

We need to harness the passion of the crowd from the first minute and you do that with attacks and attempts on goal.

Haway the Lads, 6-0 and on to Cheltenham all guns blazing.

Having read all the suggestions so far I think RTB,s team would be the one I would go for and the bench also looks awesome, if we play that formation and did not win , I would be truly devastated more so than last Saturday in fact. And it goes without saying I am delighted we have got rid of that imposter Johnson, one down one to go. OaU

As ever RTB a class thread my fine fellow.

As most of you are aware I normally plump for ridiculously big wins for the mighty SAFC and you will be pleased to know that this weekends prediction is more than ridiculous than normal. 10-0. A Stewart hat trick, a few others and then a JD 2nd half hat trick to complete the rout.

If fit I would deffo have Pritchard back in. He makes us tick in my opinion. Like Smug I agree bypass midfield. 4 at the back and 6 upfront<laugh> just hit them hard early and demoralise them.

Great thread RTB. Slightly better than the pre ramble @Smug in Boots :emoticon-0140-rofl:. Looking forward to this and there are no ifs buts or maybes on this one. 3 points and I fancy Doncaster May just take their 2nd hiding of the week. Convincing home win.

    Cheers @RTB another great thread
Where do you start with this one man
Imagine being Matete. Last week Fleetwood This week
    Lining up alongside Jermaine Defoe
    Full House going absolutely berzerk
    Roy Keane in the stands

Has to be a win for the lads. Maybe not a cricket score but comfortable 2 or 3 nil.

    The usual brilliant thread @RTB

Was nervous about this, but with Defoe off the bench and potentially Keane in the stands, **** the nerves 4 nil to us
