I don’t think you have any agenda, and have noticed you having many very valid posts, apart from the day we beat you at your place when you weren’t a happy camper, to be expected. Teams absolutely have treat the games at the SOL as their ‘cup final’ in a way. Teams come in the main determined to not let us play and try and turn the crowd, to kick and harass rather than have a game of football. Teams as high up the league as Luton and Portsmouth did it. Massive credit to those that didn’t, off the top of my head there were 3. Charlton, Barnsley and Coventry. The season was a failure as we stayed down, but also a success as we remembered how to win, and how to dig in for results. I’m not massively offended by one more year but if we don’t get it right this time then we really do become a League One club, as in the stadium and academy that folk see as a benefit in the league become a running costs noose.
Got to remember that most teams that played at the sol went on to look drained in their next game and struggled. Not many won their next one after playing at SAFC. Not a myth @sensiblegreeny but it is how it was.
Aye, there was a crazy stat about that wasn’t there. Barnsley were easily the best side at the SOL last season. We beat them, undeservedly, but they stuck with what they did all season and cane and had a go and we picked them off. For all folk can say ‘well, so they lost’, they played that way all season and went up automatically. There’s the reality, they stuck to what they did and didn’t change it for us, they went up. We lost 1 game out of 8 against the 4 teams that finished above us.
Good post all the way through mate, I don't get any sense of agendas in your posts at all, and you are right in what you say, that we will eventually go up, For me if we keep the current owners, its just how and when, one being as important as the other, but its a tough old league this one, and it wont be easy.
