I've been entertained but that isn't dependant on league position. If you can only be entertained if you win promotion then the majority of supporters won't be. I enjoy watching my team which is the whole point. I'll be at QPR, on Tuesday, and hope to be entertained even if we lose. I'd certainly rather fail, playing football, than resort to the garbage Evans serves up tbh.
It was grandson's first game at Sunderland today, so sad it ended in defeat, but thats life as a Sunderland fan. That was one of the worst displays of refereeing I have seen at a professional football game. Not saying we deserved to win as I don't think we did enough, but we certainly didn't deserve to lose that game either.
What you seem to overlook is the fact our position in the league at this stage is in our hands. We have a mostly young team that are Improving and playing good football. It's not guaranteed to get us up but it sure as hell gives us fans hope and if we do, at least we did it in style rather than cloggers who struggle the following season after promotion. You worry about your team, oh and fùck off What will be will be. By the way, I don't think Charlton are a shìt side and worried about this game. Their position belies the talent they possess imo.
Wycombe clogged their way to promotion and came straight back down because the Championship is different. It's a very short sighted policy and our club are taking the long view. Going up with a bunch of lumpy cheating cloggers isn't what we all want. Thinking we should is very narrow minded and simplistic.
it is always against teams like Charlton, Fleetwood and Pompey though we kid ourselves how good we are, we need changes in Jan or will cop it, the refs are always going to be bad against us as well, it needs looking into. and why was the pitch sprinklers on ? the pitch was playable and wet enough.
This is a common thing trotted out in football, but has very little rationale to it. There is no reason to believe entertaining young teams cant win L1, non at all. Same in L2 or any league. In our time in League 1 I think teams like Luton and Barnsley and Peterborough have gone up playing football. Good footballing teams will always get more points than those wanting to scrap it out. And based on what I saw Charlton didnt rough us up, nor did Pompey. In fact I havent felt we have been roughed up at all this season, if anything it is the most footballing league 1 in the 4 years we have been here. Whether we are good enough or not remains to be seen, but if we fail it wont be because we are entertaining.
The refs are bad full stop. We need to make our own luck. Pick ourselves up an move on. Having young players might be a disadvantage in some ways but skill and attitude should shine through. There's no kidding going on, we have proved we have a team that plays as well or better than any in this league. We just need a bit more savvy and another hard man in midfield.
This. Put us up against weak minded teams like Cheltenham and Crewe every week fine, well look mint. Come up against a team that wants it and has a bit about them it's a different story. Until we master these games we'll still be down here for the foreseeable. See this coming a mile off, decent team underperforming massively, new manager. Bang.
This is just not true. We are already avergaing over 2 points a game, and if win games in hand are top 2. We have beaten Wigan, MK Dons, Bolton, Wycombe, Gillingham, which is a fair variety of styles. We have won home and away. We have come from behind to win. We have a good goal difference. We were poor today but for crying out loud we need to calm down. The start to the season has been good. We are trying to play a more exciting brand of football.
very poor today got what we deserved nowt hopefully just a blip and we can bounce back next week Charlton are really a boggy team
Exactly this. People pissing the bed after a first home loss need a reality check. We havent spent shed loads of cash on journeyman players but, instead, are investing in youth and trying to play a more expansive game. We weren't good today but as 'good' as Charlton were they didnt create much and I'd say we tested their keeper more and got into better situations. We move on Lads. Plenty to play for
