I watched yesterdays game with my daughters partner who is a Manchester lad and supports UTD so he views us as a neutral, although we are getting to him a bit and he refers to us as 'we' when we watch the match. We agreed their keeper was MOTM, he made 3 match winning saves and our keeper had a poor game and was at fault for both goals. We could have easily been 2 up after 10 minutes but Amos made 2 great saves. If he hadn't made them saves it would have been a different game and we would have won it comfortably but we didn't so instead we get people on here crying they don't want to be in the play offs if we don't finish top 2. We go again on Tuesday and I expect us to get back to winning ways and if we don't make the top 2 I expect us to win the play offs. There is no way that I wouldn't want us to try and take another bite at promotion because we've lost play offs before. What is the point of being a supporter if you don't want to compete at all times? HA'WAY THE LADS.
Certainly not now. This isn't the old SAFC. If it was, I might understand some of the pessimism. But this is the brave new world. I feel sorry for anyone that can't get on board with that.
I think the team looks more balanced with a natural right back like McLaughlin in the side , he is composed and gets forward and dare I say it knows how to disrupt opponents attacks by fair or foul means . Power is a midfield player who did a fair job filling in when CM was injured but I prefer to have players in their natural roles . Maguire is a handy player to have on the bench as he provides something different when we need to alter our approach with craft and vision , I just wish he was consistent as he can be a very good player who is willing to try something different . It was disappointing to lose to Charlton but I am sure LJ will be analysing where we need to improve on Tuesday as we need to win to remain in contention, he has got more things right as wrong so we have to put our trust in him to get us back on track .
Bloody hell, I am a dozy sod , sorry for that RTB, but the sentiments remain, Congratulations and best of luck in your new job
Part of the job is to 'provide a presence' so I'll lend Mrs Smug my extendable cosh .... .... I'm sure she'll be happy with that while I'm away
