Cracking as usual RTB. These are the games in the past where we have slipped up. I’m not saying we will this time but I think it will be a closer game than we think. 3 points is the important thing not to bothered about the score or to a degree the performance.
Great post RTB. I think we will win although its this type of game (e.g Bolton) which can be a banana skin. I would be happy with a scrappy 1-0 win for points
A striker? for one of our better defenders. Whose place would he take on the bench, and what has he shown to merit it, yes I would like to see more of Lafferty, but less of Grigg, if that's possible. Maybe a straight swop with Joelinton would work for both players who knows.
Love the RTB match thread me like, proper class. I'm going for the Lads to give those Bristolian Scrumpy Knackers a damn good 1-0 thrashing.
Parky's Presser: https://www.safc.com/news/team-news/2020/february/press-conference-v-bristol-rovers “Lynchy is back in training today, so I'm pleased with that,” Parkinson said. “In terms of the concussion he was fine but the bruising on the ribs was a problem. “But in the last two or three days he's made great strides. That's good news for us and brings him back into the picture, if not for the weekend then certainly for Tuesday.” Parkinson was full of praise for Alim Ozturk, “I think that's why he's popular in the dressing room and I think the fans identify with that as well,” he said. “We had a couple of conversations when I left him out but they were conducted in the right way and since then he has trained really well. “I've stressed quite often, that's what we need. “You're always going to be disappointed when you're not in the team but there's a way of conducting yourself and he has been great.” “It’s always difficult when you go with the same team for a prolonged period but the lads out of the team are driving the lads in the team on,” said Parkinson when asked about naming a consistent side. "We try to keep the intensity and standard right in training,” even though we won at Oxford the day we come back into training we need to be ready to go again. “The moment the warm-up starts everyone needs to be on it and training standards are put in place going into the game." “You can’t train at half pace and in a sloppy kind of nature and expect to play well at the weekend so we need to maintain standards throughout the week.”
Great thread as usual and the appearance of it focuses my mind on how close the game is. It's hard to predict the game as, to be honest, I know nothing about Burslem Rangers ... ... I just believe we have the right mentality to beat anyone in this league. I'm going for 5-0 to the Lads because it's inevitable that we'll thrash someone this season .... .... Burslem might just be that team.
I like the idea of Ozturk giving Parky a bollocking for leaving him out but still training well and being a positive presence in the squad.
Bit alien that concept isn't it? A professional footballer gets left out, has a word with the manager, then works hard to get back in the team? Something a lot on here have said time and again - you get dropped, if you get another chance make it almost impossible to drop you again! He has also played one of the best passes I've seen all season at any level!!

I can't make it tomorrow but need a bit of help. A mate, who's absolutely skint, would like a spare ticket if any are going ... ... just in case.
Bryan Oviedo played in Europe last when he could have been preparing for a double header v Bristol Rovers & Fleetwood. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
This game and the two after it (against rivals for promotion) are going to be pivotal for the success, or lack of it, this season! Have to win today... do not care how..but we just have to!
There goalie is absolutely huge. Shots along the ground hoping he struggles to get down to them. He will win everything in the air.
