Can't believe we had a last minute goal line clearance, football eh. Ninety minutes of bricking it every week.
Had a ticket for today and decided against coming over when I saw the weather forecast, thank God I did cos black ice closed the A66 on Stainmore due to multiple accidents. Pleased the lads won just sorry not to get there, back on track results wise just hope McLaughlin isn't injured long term coming up to a busy xmas.
I was there and Watmore really made his mark and, should have been given longer though that was a strange game and could have went either way the weather did not help mind but we held strong, and we keep turning games around and I hope our goalie is ok, Charlton away 5th jan and the massive one Luton h 12th, but Luton or Portsmouth don't play on the 5th so could be good for us.
It’s my 11th wedding anniversary today so I told the missus we’d come out instead of going to the game. (I love her THAT much) Great result. 5 points off top with 2 in hand. Pretty good weekend really.
Player Ratings Jon McLaughlin, 6/10: Did his job with minimal fuss, unlucky with the goal, but solid under the high ball. Didn’t have that much to do, to be honest. Hope the injury isn’t serious. Adam Matthews, 7/10: Got forward well and was rewarded with a goal. One dodgy moment at the end, but another good performance from the Welshman. Glen Loovens, 5/10: Looked sluggish at times, but defended relatively well. Jack Baldwin, 5/10: Would be higher, but Jack was really wasteful at times with the ball today. Struggled up against the powerful Rovers forward, too. Bryan Oviedo, 6/10: A real threat down the left flank, really good delivery, too. Missing in defence occasionally. Lee Cattermole, 6/10: Looked sluggish at times, but to be expected after a lengthy lay off. Combative in the middle, and grew into the game. George Honeyman, 6/10: Standard Honeyman performance: boundless energy, and some nice touches on the ball. Max Power, 6/10: Moved the ball nicely, and almost scored a screamer. Would like to see him attack through the middle a little more, but clearly under instructions to sit deeper. Lynden Gooch, 5/10: Lots of running, but little in the way of end product today. Aiden McGeady, 8/10: As frustrating as McGeady is, he produces moments of sheer quality. Involved in both goals, he made the difference today. Josh Maja, 7/10: He might not be the complete forward package, but he finds us goals when we need them on a regular basis and that is irreplaceable without spending silly money. (SUB) Chris Maguire, 6/10: Busy off the ball, but unable to really find clear opportunities to influence the game. (SUB) Robbin Ruiter, 6/10: Touched the ball maybe twice after he came on. Pressure their forward well in the dying moments - thankfully the bar came to the rescue. (SUB) Duncan Watmore, 6/10: Nice to see Dunc back in the side, good running and some nice hold up play; he’ll be an important player going into the second half of the season. Man of the Match: Aiden McGeady https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...ristol-rovers-another-comeback-haway-the-lads
You couldn't have made a day of it and taken her to the game as well? You've set a precedent my friend.
11 years I think the precedent was set long ago fella. If we win every week I’d happily stay away to guarantee it
Really difficult conditions and a good match to get out of the way tbh. We worked hard and came out with no red cards or injuries. That'll do for me and we'll play much better than that.
Have to say this team has me loving football at the moment. We were simply incapable of scoring once we’d conceded less than a year ago. Now we’re a team who simply never gives up
We were laughing as we left the ground. We'd moaned about Power failing to control a ball dropping down to him. As we walked back to the train station you could barely see for the freezing rain in your eyes ... .... sorry Max!
