Yup. He’ll (Short) will call it in. Not that most of our multi-millionaire players will give one jot

Considering the size of the new deal announced this week and the fact Sky is about I become a Disney company, the Premier League ain’t going to collapse anytime soon, or ever.

I said last after Ipswich game I think we are gone, I refrained from any comment on last week, knowing full well what would happen today.

Brentford to be fair are a very decent side but they didn’t have to do anything to beat us.

How many ‘must wins’ can we lose? Does anyone see anything other than another shambles against a Bolton side far inferior to ours in quality but shedding blud fighting for points?

We ain’t getting out of this and I’m with Bri, administration should probably happen NOW to save us starting next season points down.

Also, I hear we have breached FFP, and that is enforced outside the PL. nowt official yet but if that’s true, we’ve got another massive block on any potential takeover, look at the fine QPR got, which would be added to the debt and therefore any purchase price.

It's bleak mate. We were ****ed while Big Sam was at the club, he was just a small ray of hope before total collapse. Short will string us out until we're liquidated the dozy stubborn Freddy Krueger with hair looking ****.

The only way out is a mega rich new owner.

We know that’s not happening. At what point do we have to close the academy? Maybe close a stand in the stadium?

It’s beyond bleak forget the atmosphere and the edginess in the stadium, it’s far worse than that you can feel it it hangs heavy in there.

AFC Sunderland isn’t far fetched mate, and there isn’t even a glimmer of light to suggest anything is going to change.

This club is 30 plus years of my life far longer for many on here, what the **** happens? The city itself is already a struggling, often negative and dare I say it rather grim place, what happens if one of the seldom few things it’s known for disinergrates?

People can point to Leeds, similar size club, magnificent history, went to League 1, recovering slowly.

They had £70million debt, we have double that and rising. I genuinely worry it isn’t recoverable, a business that wasn’t a football club wouldn’t and couldn’t remain open in the state it is. Short is a disgrace of a man, knows nothing of the symbolism and importance of a club to the people, to the city. He’s let the club rot to its very foundations.

I would do time if I came face to face with him, I’d do time and I would accept doing that time with zero regret.

My sentiments exactly. Put better than I ever could. I think we're already passed the point of no return.

We are in the realms of praying now mate, we really are. Praying to a god that doesn’t exist.

That’s how desperate it is. The club and it’s finances can not be sustained in League One. It’s that simple.

If we go down everything is done. The academy, the already reduced kit and sponsorship deals. There is no way League One even keeps the electric on at the SOL.

He didn't own Rangers either, but what happened to them is happening to us it would seem, it may be coincidence, time will tell. <ok>

Some people here most probably will take me for a woum. But being non English notwithstanding; I would rather us beat you the filthy lot when both of us are strong rather than you being lower in a division. **** all this money-minded football than a simple old footie. Am an African; but I hoped to attend a proper football match where I could watch a proper football match between 11 players would just play to beat the opposition and the result giving us a pleasure for just it. This is no longer the beautiful game

    Only Burton.

You just think if we could get 2 on the bounce we’d be ok but we aren’t capable. We don’t look close to it.

It feels like it could all happen quite quickly. On Tuesday it's away to Bolton whilst Barnsley have home to Burton. That could see them on 33/31 points and a 5 point gap.

The following 3 games are Boro, Millwall (away) and Villa.

If you did go into administration, what are the penalties? Does anyone know? Also if you go into administration now is that relevant to the penalties?

Seem to think it’s demotion and points penalties without looking it up which would be catastrophic if you’re actually relegated and then go into administration.

Also, are you that seriously in financial trouble?

Being honest for a change as always revel in you’re problems as you do ours but can’t really do that if you don’t exist.

    Two or three separate issues:

1 - Finances. Currently getting the parachute payments and due to do so for two more years. They are in debt though how much is up for debate, good money was brought in at the start of the season and if I pluck a figure of £100m out of the air it isn't without merit but it's hard to say with much accuracy - Bri has as good a handle on this as many around here.

2 - Administration. 10 point deduction. Immediate for this season (so guaranteed relegation) but even worse it can get rolled over to next season if not claimed by mid-March. The FA have the right to wait until the end of the season and if Sunderland aren't relegated give the deduction to relegate them or, if they are relegated anyway, enforce it next season instead. The cut-off used to be the 4th Thursday in March, not sure if it still is. Anyway, if this is a route the club is looking at they are best doing it sooner whilst it's still in their hands.

3 - FFP. From what is being reported unofficially this could be a huge issue. £8m loss is permitted, then for the next £10m you pay a percentage per pound lost as penalty. After £18m you pay a pound penalty for each extra pound you spend. ie - if you spend £10m over the £18m maximum the penalty for that is £10m. QPR got stung for £40m through this and it was upheld in October last year. This could justify some of the "short-term" financial measures Sunderland took in January as each pound they save could be worth double. This is going to come out in the wash very soon.

Well it’s an automatic 10 point penalty, there was a case with Luton where they punished them a further 30 points, but it’s generally the 10.

The debt is around £100 million, we have parachute payments from PL for now but they won’t even cover wage bill and service those debts, in reality the only way out is that Short wrote off the debt and sold for a pittance just to get out.

He’s shown no sign of a willingness to do that, and he’s done nothing to address the slide. The hopes that he’d put something in to protect his own asset we’re just that, he’s a multi-billionaire with no bond to the area or grasp of the club. He couldn’t give a **** and I doubt he’d give 2 ****s about pulling the plug.

It’s serious peril, I think people are missing how big it is. He’s taken the money from Pickford sales etc, claimed they’ve gone into the club but where? He’s asset stripped the club, and in doing so recovered millions upon millions imo, there’s nothing left to sell bar the 4 put on loan, who’s values are reduced whilst we pay large chunks of their salaries as their contracts run down.

The only one with a built in fee is Borini, Milan will take him and sell him on, as they have a pre arranged £5.3million clause and despite his failings in the current climate they will easily double that to a mid table Italian club.

It’s a nest of intertwined **** that is looking more and more impossible to penetrate and untangle, whilst Short sits in America enjoying his golf and wiping his arse with 100 dollar bills.

I've looked into it a bit more and the figures I put up regarding FFP are the old ones. It's £39m over 3 years loss allowable now it seems. I'm not sure how that would come in to affect Sunderland and if their last two years in the Prem come in to play or if it starts afresh. Anyway, it's not pretty.

Cor blimey, I feel sorry for those who are genuinely devasted by our plight. If this was happening in my younger days I would be too.

Well it's not like we've been blindsided, we've posted huge losses for the best part of a decade and are in the process of pulling off a double relegation. It can't be a surprise, we've had all the time in the world to prepare ourselves. I think a lot of kids are more pissed off with parents bring them up supporting ****e then the plight of the club. Reads that way on Twitter anyway.

I live near Liverpool and some of my old friends back home are expecting me to talk my children into supporting Newcastle. I cannot see any logical reason whatsoever, if my children are into football, to talk them out of supporting their local team (Liverpool/ Everton) and supporting Newcastle instead. If you're going to sign up for the lottery at least buy a ticket that could win something - I've had too much pain with little reward from my club.
