That's one thing we don't seem to possess. We've got technically good footballers with no pace and very little strength. Every team we have played had a big powerful quick guy playing centre midfield we don't. Last night Leadbitter and Honeyman were just bullied it wasn't till Maguire came on that we started picking up any second balls. I understand there is a lot of love for Leadbitter but I honestly thought he was awful last night. Bullied in 50/50s and consistently slowed the play down whenever in possession. I still think he has a role to play but we need tempo when trying to break teams down and it felt like we were playing with 10 men for most of that game.
They are both clocking over 2 points per game and you would imagine they'll end around the 92 point mark. To match that requires 33 points from 15 games (2.2 points per game), very doable but recent form has been poor.
We've been iffy all season. The main thing different recently is our good luck has deserted us. How we've only lost 2 games is a mystery.
I was wondering about playing Leadbitter further forward, he's got a shot on him and his ability to pick a pass might be more useful there. I'm not sure we're getting the best out of him in a deep lying role.
They are exactly what we need on the pitch for the rest of the season, when McGuire is in the mood he's irresistible and I just love O9s enthusiasm.
Great goal, McGeady played a blinder in that game, the best I have seen him play and lots of tracking back and winning the ball, he is another option to play just behind Grigg, he also combined well with Mcguire, some real attacking options there. That would be one problem sorted.
The front 3 pick itself for Tuesday. Grigg, McGeady and Maguire. Want to see O,Nien in midfield with Matthews and Flanagan back in defence.
Yeah we need a couple of powerhouses in the team. When we had Kone and Kirchoff, under Allardyce, nobody fancied going up against us. Even Khazri was a solid bloke. It makes a big difference to have players like that, in the team.
