Lee Johnson: “After looking back at the video and assessing it objectively, there were a couple of areas we fell short but there were some very good elements to our performance, “You have to give consideration to Hull’s physicality and quality on the day, and I thought it was a good game – a rare game where both teams are fully going for three points right until the end." “Then in the last seconds, the goalkeeper makes a brilliant save and Aiden O’Brien hits the crossbar – we were pushing for the win.” Johnson denied that the team’s confidence has at all diminished following a run of frustrating results, and said that the analysis of each game remains consistent." “I don’t think our confidence has ever dropped like people maybe think it might have. We try and keep that consistency and we’re really honest, even when we’ve won games 4-0 for example, we’ve picked the bones out of the performance and always look to do that." “That protects the inner sanctum from outside negativity and allows us to focus on the way we want to play. It’s a big time for us, we’ll definitely try and win the last four games, but we know it’s not in our hands and we also have to build belief.” Following last month’s 2-0 win in the reverse fixture at the Wham Stadium, Johnson noted that some key players returning for John Coleman’s opponents will make them a trickier battle this time around. “Accrington are a very dangerous side. We talked about it when they were up there quite early, how the big clubs would probably come through because of their squads." “I think Accrington have been the victim of two or three key injuries, but those players are back now, and they look a strong unit again. They’re physical with good footballers in the side as well, and I expect them to be stronger than when we last faced them because of the players they have back.”
while i'm still up for this match, gone is that feeling you get deep inside before the match, the years of mediocrity that's been pumped in our direction, may have finally come home to roost, where before it meant the world to me, after covid all the deaths and the people no longer with jobs, the realisations it's only a game, yet still important in my aspect of life, i fear may well stay with me, i'll soon find out if we start banging the goals in
Looking forward to the match, first one cracked open. This after nearly choking on my cornflakes when soccer am was on, had a female boxer on called Ebanie Bridges, would leap through hoops of fire for a crack at that.
I know what you mean mate. I am missing the matchday when we were there, meeting mates for a pint and then again after to argue about who was the worst player that day I still enjoy the game but it isnt an event currently. That said I am optimistic for the future. Even if we fail to go up the season will end much brighter than it started for me, simply down to the change of owners.
Know what you mean mate. Had been feeling a bit down lately with the performances and this lockdown **** in general. Have been happy to sit in and drink a few cans. No real enthusiasm. However was dragged out by my Daughter last night for a couple of hours. Table outside all the kids there with their partners and a couple of mates. Came home absolutely buzzin. I now think thats how the football will go. Wont take much KTF
the police station has some nice bars, and they always have the match on, failing that i've googled it for you it has a map and all the locations https://www.matchpint.co.uk/sunderland-sports-bar
