Only for automatic mate, even if we fail in the playoffs, I reckon next season, we'll take it by storm with an average gate of 37,000, just a shame the ownership issues weren't sorted last season. As much as I want out of this league, imagine how much better it will be with the fans, especially in light of recent times, as has been shown also very recently, football is the game of the people, the people don't get much better than jubilant Sunderland supporters. Onwards and upwards.
A quote from Kyril Louise Dreyfus. "Sunderland have always been special to me because I've always admired the passion the supporters have for the club, the great history its got, the stadium is known all over the world, so I believe there is a big under-developed potential that I hope to achieve. "However, I would like to say that it is a tough climate we're in now, the next months will be challenging and there are pandemic-related losses which will require investment from the ownership, but we're confident over time we will get out of this stronger and we will get success." If all else fails this season, the next should be promising.
I would love to see a massive 10-0 hammering but will settle for any win and the 3 points. I still see promotion regardless of whether automatic or the play offs.
Donny have nowt to play for now but could mean they are relaxed. My cynical head says a chairman would prefer 5000 Sunderland fans in his ground as opposed to a few hundred Peterboro fans so will they just rollover and lose? Hope I'm talking b*llocks here.
Hasn't Vokins been given the all clear on the heart murmur arising from Covid and is back in full training.
Cracking thread as always RTB. If we can’t beat these at home we don’t deserve to go up. Home win for me. 3-1
According to an RN newsreader (the station that supposedly represents the NE), we are playing African Stanley this afternoon, hopefully he's a left back. .
As a club we have had some horrific left backs - Galloway, De Bock, McFadzean, McCartney, Clive Clarke to name but a few
April 1979 I think would be the last 6-2 (v SheffUtd). We must be due another. And now I'm thinking of it, I dare not put a cheeky quid on it. . If it comes up , theres a pint in it for you . ....... 200/1 I got
Filled in my predictor, looked back and realised I've gone for home wins in every game. If it happens, could be an interesting last three games.
