Yeah its nothing like S1 with access to the players (Jonny Williams, Jason Steele etc). Just watched the first episode of the new one. Its all set up for more heartache.....the Bolton loss, focus on Kyril being young and apparently doesn't know what he is doing (and only owning 41%), Roy Keane deal breaking down.... Hopefully STID is a reminder to those who think we should be going toe to toe with Leicester and Southamption to get into the Premier League this season. Only 2 years ago, we dropped out of the playoffs after Lee Johnson was sacked with the likelihood being another year in League 1. A lot has happened since then! Also, O9 is top man.
Just finished watching all episodes and that was emotional. Remembering the hurt I felt when we timed through the leagues, how the form fell off the cliff at Bolton, the struggles to get into the playoffs - I even punched the air when Roberts scored the winner at Sheff Wed! Showing the previous games at Wembley, the only time I got to go to Wembley with my dad against Swindon got me fighting the tears back. I didn't get to the final cos I double booked myself on the day and couldn't get out of it but remembering pacing backwards and forwards in the living room until Stewart scored the second. Looking at the wife and seeing her with tears in her eyes when the final whistle blew - not bad for someone who wasn't fussed on football when we first got together! Even though it's only a couple of seasons ago, those days feel so long ago to me. The club feels so different to those times now. KLD and everyone have built solid foundations for this club to grow - AND WE WILL GROW. If we don't go up this season, we won't wait that long to go back up and we'll stay there. There's been times when I couldn't face going to the ground, I still watched the matches on streams but I couldn't go. It's a total about turn now, I can't wait to go to the next game and if I didn't work shifts I would be getting my season ticket back that I had to give up! The grandson is starting to feel what it's like to be a Sunderland fan - he was even crying on Saturday morning before the game wondering what would happen if we lost and was it his fault cos it took him so long to see us win! He's even made a list of his favorite teams 1. Sunderland 2 Man City 3 Hartlepool That will do for me bonny lad!
Just watched the first episode, unbelievable. The mental health side, showing how the results affect people in the city, is done brilliantly and is very relatable.
He said he was playing more off the left but had the attributes to work as a forward. Apart from the poor match day editing, I thought it was enjoyable.
Just finished all 3.....absolutely brilliant. O'Nien is just class, what a role model this bloke is. Gooch....he will always be one of us. Louise Wanless segment was done really well I thought. Loved her shirt at Wembley, a classy touch for a classy lady. I wasn't expecting the ending tbh, it made me realise I've got more dust in the house than I thought. R.I.P Louise and Ian. Would also like to say we'll done and thank you to Fulwell73, this one was for us.
Apparently a genuine documentary isnt as good as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney trying to gloss over the fact Phil Parkinson is running their club. It’s like comparing Blue Planet or Planet Earth to Tiger King.
STID is the OG real deal. Welcome to Wrexham is great but it will always be inspired rather than be the inspiration.
Brilliant that, what a ****ing club, the Wembley scenes in the ending should be shown to every new signing
I watched all 3 straight off and then watched the last episode again to make sure I got all of the excess water out of my eyes It was also great to see 2 of my grandchildren on it as they were mascots for the Sheff Wed play off game and my granddaughter got to walk out with her hero, Luke It just makes me love my club even more and I can't wait to get down to Huddersfield tonight.
