I often wonder if Lloyd cons his out-of-touch non local bosses into believing there is enormous RL interest out there. He seems the only one who's really interested in it. Turned on Mudbank the other night on the way home and he was phoning some Aussie about his time in England. Who the **** is interested in that? Desperately dull radio. Would we have a 10 minute call to Danny Allsop asking him for his thoughts on Colin Murphy, Roland Edge etc? I think not. Simon 'Uebergeek' Clarke is his heir. Airlie Turd to the core.
Agree I've heard the jingle and it's good. But surely Sportstalk should have been dominated by City and football guests this week ? Did RH or KCFM even mention that Shane Long scored for his country last night, because if they did I missed any mention of it ? City had eight players on International duty last night. That must be some sort of record, even for our world famous rugby league clubs. And I had local radio on all day, switching stations, read the HDM, watched local BBC and ITV regional news and I have seen no mention of it. It has to be said once again, and sadly, but if Hull City have people working on promoting the club and in the business of selling tickets and with a Premiership club, an FA Cup Quarter Final and are 90 minutes from a Wembley appearance and still there is no buzz in the area, no excitement and very little positive news coming out of the club, then god help us if we ever slip back into the lower leagues. Its simply not good enough.
No......it was bloody relevant when some one just claimed those not bothered won't be going on Sunday.
Did you notice after discussing FC and Rovers with Murdoch how Lloyd asked if getting to a semi final, was a big deal to a club like City in an almost dismissive way and then went on to say that Scunny going 19 matches unbeaten, now that was a big deal. Then after some pathetic joshing about with the traffic bloke we had 20 minutes of Adam Pearson bigging up rugby league and telling us how wonderful it is. Things like that and the HDM's luke warm treatment of City compared to the hysteria around the slightest sign of rugby league success plus the lack of interest shown by the council in a successful, football team and what it brings to the city all make me wonder if Hull appreciates or deserves a successful team. The apathy towards the cup compared to the keenness to watch PL teams to gawp at their stars is another reason. Some of our fans sneer at other clubs yet Sheff Utd sell 10,000 more tickets for a game against less attractive opposition.
We all know your pissing opinion on the name change, you don't need to shove it down our throats. The rest of the post is fine, there was no need for you to repeat your opinion for the 2,673rd time.
I said a lot of those not going are only bothered about seeing the "stars" of the other clubs which is why they can turn up for PL games but not for a cup game at a reasonable price and are happy for us to be called anything if we can carry on letting them drool over the likes of Stevie G and Rooney. Supporting City is not their main interest when attending the KC. Maybe comparethemarket.com will sponsor us and we could become Hull Meerkats. That would be alright, wouldn't it? Same club, same ground. Perhaps after a goal the tannoy could announce "Gooooaaaaallll - simples!".
Shut up moaning. I only put it BECAUSE a previous post said those not bothered WOULD NOT be going to the game. It wasn't true though... let's hope we sell loads more tickets..
I cannot remember the last time I listened to sportstalk all the way through. I switched off again tonight because I have no interest in rugby league and didn't want listen to a free advertisement by Adam Pearson. Did Lloyd ask Pearson of his interest in buying Leeds United ? A story which has appeared in every national newspaper but not the local HDM. I've heard RH sports news all day today. City 'news' was a negative one about players not getting contracts until the end of the season, nothing at all about cup fever, Wembley, players representing their countries and so on, Scunthorpes news was all about possible promotion and the rugby league news was about FC new exciting attacking style of play and how it will bring the crowds back. They have lost two out of three games and along with HKR sit in the bottom half of the league.
AP is the best chairman of any club in this city's history and sets the benchmark. Many have been richer, but they have all hidden themselves smugly away and remained alook from the fans. He engaged the the fans and reduced their grumbles to zero to the point that there was no longer a need for a fans forum whinge session. He was happy to listen and take on board good advice, even if he had to change tack. What price a chairman like that now? It turns sour for all of them because of this. Needler, Bartlett, Lloyd and now Allam. They all act(ed) with disdain and aloofness, thinking their ideas and methods were unquestionable and to do so was aggressively insulting. Result: falling gates, relegation etc As regards Hull folk and the Tigers, the radio and HDM feed the locals a distorted mirror image of themselves. Editorial policy of both Mudbank and the Mail is a given: feed them each a third of the sports coverage so Hull v Huyton, Rovers v Workington and City v Juventus are all given equal weighting. Insane but true.
I am absolutely convinced that Lloyd is employed as part of some sort of care in the community experiment. There can be no other reason for putting him on air.
Phil supports Sunderland, so he'll obviously hope they win. He's also the best City reporter we've had for years and he does an excellent job.
Can't be arsed to read ****e, any update on how many tickets are sold? Took them awhile to find a block of 3 for us yesterday so can't be as bad as I feared.
No, it wasn't said that those not bothered about a name change wouldn't be going. It was said those not going wouldn't be bothered by a name change as long as we were in the PL. Which is different.
