    The Town Moor dates back to 1868, before Newcastle became a City.

    The term Mackem comes from the shipyards, when ships were built on the Wear and then sailed to Newcastle to be fitted out.

    The whole NE has had an industrial history to be proud of. Note the use of past tense.

    Where someone comes from or their motives for supporting a team, doesn't devalue their support. It's how that support shows their support that counts. You can't choose where you were born and in to what circumstances you were born. Does a fanatical Man U fan from the Far East have less worth than someone from Salford, even if they have invested nowhere near as much money, time etc in following their team???

    I agree here and its a shame that some areas of opinion in some clubs still have an aloof view of one persons supporting credentials versus anothers.
    It reminds me of that sketch with Cleese and the two ronnies... I look down at him...etc.

    One of many in the mix. We still have to get to safety too. I'd rather be heading into to crunch time with our squad. I said a while back I thought they'd be pretty close, but hopefully they'll scrape 17th so we can have the derbies.

    No one is safe from Stoke down as yet.

    See a few of our Mackem friends have covered themselves in glory again. I've said it many times, I don't agree with the inbreeding on the dark side...................:biggrin:

    As regards a North east supporter ever wanting a London team to beat a North East team it would appear that you don't follow the things said on your board as closely as you might.
