Just noticed that the League cup match has been put back to Nov 6th. First time it was 29th of Oct. then 30th. Apologies if already posted. Doesn't affect my plans but it will mess a few people about.

Considering they're based in different cities, is this actually a consideration?

When was the last time Saints and Pompey played home on the same day?

Police availability, transport issues etc.

In Sunderland and Newcastle's case it will surely be the Metro. Twice that I have been to the Stadium of Light I have stayed in Newcastle and I know I wasn't the only one

Eaxactly - we (Sunderland) never play home games on the same day as the scum. Not sure why our game got moved though.

Scum FFS. That is hardly original is it mate.

The half wits down the road from us have never been able to think of anything more original to call us than SCUM either.

If you follow the Skates' logic you should call them NCUM for fictitiously breaking a strike that never even existed in the first place.

This 'scum' thing I don't understand. My memory of the 70's was that we used to call Pompey 'scummers' and then they switched it on us and made out it all came from said 'strike breaking'.

Did we break their fictional strike or did they break ours?

Only trying to help. :D

Hey, it's better than having a fans vote about what name should be used for their rivals to cause the greatest amount of offence. Not that any clubs around here would be tacky enough to do that....

The Sunderland guy is referring to Newcastle

Yes we got that bit.

But if scum stands for Southampton Corporation Union Men according to our friends down the road then by the same logic Newcastle should be called Newcastle Corporation Union Men hence NCUM unless of course the whole business is just absolute rubbish and our friends from Sunderland are just as unimaginative as our near neighbours.

I hope you've got it now.
