I'm rather disappointed we didn't up our bid to get him, because he looks like a class prospect and he's a Liverpool fan so we could have another Fowler on our hands. Unfortunately it wasn't to be, so I wish Sunderland well and make sure you make him into a top class striker so we will regret it terribly.

God if he's fifty percent of what Fowler was in his pomp I'll be ecstatic. I remember watching Fowler at Roker Park once. The thing about him that stood out which you'd never see on T.V. is how he could rip a defense apart even when he didn't have the ball.
I've been saying for a while that he'll be a great player one day. And £8m isn't much compared to what others are willing to spend on good, young English talent. Great signing.
