Now thats a good signing, first thing he did was nip in the shop to buy a shirt, better than kissing them

And fair play to you too Coloccini. A mag that doenst see EVERY SAFC signing as a bad one.

Well said. I'm excited and nervous for him. Bit of an unknown one but he has a massive reputation for one so youing but could be a real superstar and the fans up here love a good striker.

He knows how to score against your lot too. Lol

As I said earlier today, I sincerely hope the lad is given every opportunity to develop without the burden of instant expectation from the supporters.

I remember something on the same lines years ago when we signed Ally McCoist, and we never gave him enough time. We sold him on for a pittance compared to the number of goals he scored during his career, and before they come on and say Yes, but it was only in the Scottish League, a good goal scorer will score in any league. I know we want the lad to hit the ground running, but I hope the fans dont get on his back if he misses a couple of sitters. We should be used to this after all JUDAS had a habit of doing the same thing, but while he was with us we loved him.
If we can play to the lads abilities along with Gyans then we may just come up smelling of roses for a change. Lets get behind hiom from day one , and to the WUMS who want to come on and slag the guy off when hes not scored 15 before xmas, Ive got one thing to say **** OFF. KTF.

    Hey Gillingham fan in peace,
Just heard you have completed on Connor Wickham! What a signing! 18 years of age, hard worker and can score goals. My mum's a big sunderland fan being from Bouldon and she is chuffed with this signing. Hope you do well with him next year seeing as last year the goals just dried up without Darren Bent banging them in!
Anyways good luck to you Mackems.:emoticon-0100-smile

Cheers matey and for the record, its Boldon? Your mam should clip your ear? Lol

Must admit my feelings towards Gillingham fans is still mixed as I remenber your lot celebrating wildly with scum mags at Roker Park, when we were relegated to the 3rd division way back when.

I'll accpet you though as an affiliate of the NE and for your mams sake. Lol

You can buy incontanence pants at your local chemist, if things are that bad, you can actually have them delivered.

I don't think we have had a universally accepted hero at the club since the days of Quinn/Phillips, so it would be great if this lad could develop into a cult figure at the club. However, he is very young and we will need to show some patience with the lad.

    That's more like it Syd,

give the lad a few pre-season games to start his payback.

That role, my good man, will be filled by Mr Stephane Sessegnon.

Mark my words we will all idolise him by Christmas.

IM actually pretty pleased about this. If we didn't sign Wickham, Im 99% sure Bruce would have fought tooth and nail to get Crouch, probably for a similar fee, could just as easily flop, has barely any resale value, and would be on silly wages.

Get the Dongler on board and send N'Gog packing and Ill be happy.

Can definitely see that happening if he starts the season the way he ended it.

Well, i'll join the voice of approval on this.

Jordan out, Whickham, Larsson, Westwood and Gardner in, and millions left in the surplus.

I'd like to give a big '**** YOU' to the natinal press 'He will reject Sunderland for Spurs/Liverpool/Arsenal etc...'

He came up today, and signed instantly, knocking back his 'beloved 'Liverpool, seemingly, in the process.

Quinn and Bruce have sold the lad the dream, i'd LOVE to hear the conversation which made one of the hottest prospects in the game confident that this was his new home.

Welcome to Sunderland Connor, i think you'll like it here <ok>
