I went 2-1 too on the prediction. They've got the players to make things happen. Don't understand why they look like us under Poyet. I can only assume it's McClaren.

Yeah it is, done it at FC Twente and done it with Derby. Tippy tappy doesn't work unless your Barcelona. You need unbelievable quality to retain the ball for long periods and players with lightening movement who can pick a pass before anybody else sees it. Newcastle and Derby simply haven't got the players for this style of play. They can keep possession, that's easy though. They haven't got the class to penetrate through teams though, easy to defend against. West Ham played it spot on... let the ****ers have the ball, get all your players behind it and then take it from them in the final third and break quickly.

I'm glad we didn't want him. I know Tel rates him and he was the best available without Dick. But I'm happy with who we ended up with as there's was nobody available who's a patch on Dick.

Agree with that. I was very vocal about McClaren coming here, I wanted him. I called it wrong and after the start he's got off to with them, glad we have DA. 50m on ****e, must be one of the worst transfer windows ever from a club that's not regarded as one of the big clubs in the league.

I wanted him too, but only because I thought Dick wasn't coming. The managers available were shocking.

I said It was a risk such a big outlay on kids. They lack depth, balance and I believe defensively frail. Their new CB looks decent but that defence needed much more work.
