Disappointed with the result but I can also say the players will be, they don't deliberately go out and not perform yes it was a poor performance but we still weren't beat and we could've/should've nicked it with those 2 late chances. I'm proud of what these lads have produced up to now we've got to keep on getting behind them
Between the players. Not sure , Samed offers much more than ekwak. Especially given we have waited 4 to 5 months to see it.
I've read through the thread and had a doze before posting as emotions run high after a game. A disappointing and frustrating performance from the team, felt during the first 20 minutes we had it under control and they weren't really a threat but we never put our foot down and took the game away from them. Hopefully we learn from it and see a better performance Wednesday
Just coming into Kirkcaldy so one more bus and I’ll be back at Leven to drive home. … … with any luck I should’ve missed the traffic
Hope you mate good time. I have been home hours. Enjoying some Guinness, and fresh pasta cooked by the Mrs.
Far too early to judge Samed, he's just back from injury and is just adapting to a new league He has made a good impact of the bench vs derby and Boro but don't think he's ready to start yet - so far he doesn't offer us what Neil offers us in that role
Not a great performance today but no panic at all from me. They were physical and some of our younger more technically gifted players probably got a bit bullied. It happens no sweat they will learn from that. Positives are another point from a losing position, still unbeaten at home and 2 goals from well worked corners. Don't ever remember saying that about us. Also if Wilson or Aleksic take either of their one on ones in injury time we are talking about that game in a much more different light. Not slagging either off but they both looked like pretty tame finishes. Then again I was 100 yards away in the North Stand so can't comment too much. Also I was guilty of celebrating prematurely when I saw Isidor was clean through at the end. I looked a right twat but honestly I'd have put my house on him scoring there.
Incorrect. It tells me that neither are actually good enough. Waiting for and spending months worth of wages on this player....... Well, I would have just kept Ekwah
Just a comment. He won't be starting enough. Not sure he is the man TBH and don't see that Ekwak wouldn't have gone. Currently don't see a CL footballer. Unless it's crab football.
That was a tough watch today, yet somehow we still nearly won it. we need to stop sitting back once scoring, show a ruthless streak, get teams played off the park and stop these stupid mistakes we keep making. Luton is a massive game on Wednesday, get it won and won comfortably
Samed and Ekwah totally different players though (IMHO at least). Samed is a natural No.6, albeit we aren't seeing him at his best yet. Ekwah may well have ad the size for a defensive midfielder but he was anything but in terms of ability and attitude. As one of my mates at the match used to say, he just doesn't smell danger. I'm not a fan of Ekwah, but maybe he has qualities to be used higher up the pitch. Last season I got fed up watching him jog when others were sprinting.
On reflection I would say the Plymouth result was worse. Watford were better and are there or thereabouts for the playoffs. I like their number 8 and they were neat with their passing. Time wasting was poor but ref never got a grip. We just need to get on that front foot from the start. Certainly a fit Mundle or Watson would help on that front
Main difference is that Dan even when he is the holding midfielder has the energy to still support the attack which Samed has not shown us yet , as per Plymouth I think we showed them too much respect and in home matches I would like to see Mayenda up top with Isidor . As you rightly say he is effective coming on later in games but prefer for us to be more adventurous at the outset .
