Cheers @RTB. Up for my first game in a while. Crap that Clarke and Ballard amongst others will be missing. I'm going for a 3-1 win (Bellingham, Neil & Mundle).
Highly unlikely but wouldnt it be strange if it all came together with JC out and we accidentally hit on a constant winning formula. Stick Rusyn on the wing with Hemir in the middle or hopefully play them both upfront. Wouldnt mind seeing Rigg get at least 30 mins as well.
Today will confirm whether the club are still aiming for the play-offs or planning for next season imo. If today's line up is 'experimental' I think it's the latter although Dodds said, yesterday, the aim is still promotion.
Hopefully an early goal or two to the cuddlies, the fans singing, the sun out and we get the 3 points to enjoy our post match ales. Not asking for much am I!
I know it is everywhere but it’s fresh in the Roker riviera so hopefully some good football to warm us all up COME ON
Don't know about anyone else but for the first time in a few weeks I'm really looking forward to todays game. Big ask of Dodd's with Ballard and Clarke being out but have a feeling we will put in a performance today. Could do with the points after the last few weeks but just want to see signs of us playing with a bit of drive and freedom again. 3-1 fancy Mundle to put in a performance.
Thanks RTB once more for a top class MDT , no idea what team we might see to-day , but lets hope this is the start of some optimism returning and we get some crisp bright football to match the weather in sunny Sunderland to-day OaU
TRAFFIC THROUGH EAST BOLDON If your driving to match through East Boldon (A184) you might want to look at alternative routes. Roadworks on the junction with Boker Lane and Bridle Path (the traffic lights shortly after entering Est Boldon) and consequent 4 way temporary lights mean there are queues in both directions which can only get worse. The queue is already back to the Hardie Drive turn off (getting on for 1/4 mile)
Well the branch lads are in a fine fettle, everyone I've spoken to so far has a different idea on formation and line up. I would do well to remember how positive these lads are when bad thoughts enter my head
Mundle looks like a right handful but he needs to rein it in slightly to stay on the right side of the ref. His hard running and harrying reminds me of Stewart.
From the U18s not sure - Neild maybe. I reckon it will be Rigg, Watson and maybe Kelly or Taylor in the squad.
Nursing a hangover but still optimistic, a bit of a buzz in the air today, lovely day for our biggest win of the season. Enjoy the match everyone
It'll be interesting to see what side we put out today. Seelt and Mundle look increasingly like they might be first team regulars next season, so it would be good to see them stake a claim (especially if Clarke is injured). I also saw rumours of playing 2 up front. With this season now being pretty much a free hit, I'm not against us trying different approaches to see if Rusyn or Hemir can find a route into this team. Same goes for Pembele and Aouichiche really. It would be a good advantage for us in the summer to know exactly how much or how little these players can contribute.
Just to get us in the mood . . . . I've just taken this 'photo in The Museum. Zoom in and you'll see that this was from 45 years ago today
