I'm sure I speak for us all to wish Tony a speedy recovery.....I enjoyed his time with us....get well soon Mogga!
I can see why the players like Mike Dods. he was clearly upset when talking about uncle Toney. Hopefully the players will give that extra % for him. Although I thought Beales pressers were ok. I really enjoyed that one and hope MD is successfull for his sake as much as for Sunderland.
Team i would pick tomorrow: Patto Hume seelt o9 hjelde Neil Rigg styles Ba rusyn mundle Dont think itll be that tho as jobe n ekwah will play I wouldnt mind seeing Rusyn left wing but the issue is we dont have anyone to then play CF (burstow should be nowhere near the team)
No but I thought Doddsy was going to reveal it at the end of the live presser. He almost gave too much away...
Dodds seems very confident in his presentation and how he wants the team to set up and play. I've seen other interim coaches thats been told that he's in charge and to get on with it and been like a rabbit in the headlights in press conferences
Time for positivity, we still have a chance and if Dodds can get a good win tomorrow we could kick on again 4-1 to the lads Great thread again RTB
Start Rigg, give him 15 games let's see what he can do. Dodds had us organised against WBA and Leeds, i wonder had he been given them 12 games where we would have been. as for manager Conte or Still would be great.
Brilliant thread, as usual RTB. Highlight of the week for me! Dodds does seem to like Jobe playing up top, so I expect that to happen, with Mundle and Rusyn either side. Hjelde and Styles being fit are a boost for the left side, as it allows Hume to play RB where he's more effective. Looking forward to seeing Seelt alongside o9, although Ballard will be a miss. With Clarke out, Dan Neil's creativity will be even more important, so I hope he has a blinder. Really hope that Rigg gets some game time. He's been under used so far this season imo. Looking towards next season, plenty of minutes from the bench for Hemir instead of Burstow would be a good thing. Interesting that Hemir's old club, Benfica, have been voted the best youth academy in the world recently. Would be good to see Watson getting on from the bench too. It's not that I think we aren't capable of mounting a challenge on the sixth play off spot. We probably are. For me, it's more that I think we are way off being ready for Premier League football right now and I don't want to be next seasons Sheff Utd. So, over the next 13 games, I hope we blood some of the youngsters, then bolster the squad in the summer, using money from sales. I hope there are not just some of the big names who will go. I think there are some of the also rans who we need to move on in order to make the overall squad stronger. 3-1 to the lads tomorrow. Rusyn, Mundle and Seelt with the goals and a five-star performance from the Lads!
We will probably concede we always do just hope we’re a few ahead by then, 4-1 jobe, mundle, ekwah hemir
With Clarke out, could a fluid front 3 be an option? Start out as Rusyn, Mundle, Ba with the 3 of them allowed the freedom to swap postions depending on the situation? Neil as the dm with Styles and A N Other as the 2 No. 8's
Hope it wasn’t related to Jaffa cake consumption. Seriously though you’re right. It sounded more serious than something that would only last 8 weeks. Hope he’s ok. Strange that it’s not been said.
