The first half of a cup final we were terrible. RLB got it spot on at half time and second half and helped win us the game. That’s football

He said it himself in an interview after the game mate. Played 90 minutes with torn calf muscles got it scanned and barely trained before the game. They made the call that he wasn’t fit enough to start but they tried there best to get him fit for any of the game

he was unbelievable probably running in pure adrenaline. Well earned rest

Roberts has been carrying an injury for weeks and playing through the pain. My guess is that he was nursed yesterday and brought on against tired legs. It worked a treat and RLB has demonstrated his managerial ability once again.

Just extra on this. Anyone giving stick for negative comments were in probably the most emotional game in years and years. Reactionary comments and discussing how we were playing poor is completely fine. Everyone was buzzing when RLB and the lads switched it on and won

Don’t think the build up got the credit it deserved, all the attention on the finish but the way we moved it quickly between the lines and Roberts moving it on before the defender could adjust was excellent.

You can tell Luke is getting on a bit.
In the olden days, if his arm fell off he would jump back up and carry on, he would just run it off and be right as rain.

Remember the Black Knight in the Monty Python Holy Grail film…”it’s only a flesh wound”

Brilliant, just brilliant. What a team, what supporters. What a club.

After a difficult first 30 mins I thought we got a bit of control. Even it was just posession for posession sake. I thought that was smart football from the lads on the pitch, it would have been hard to come back from 2 at half time.

Start of second half we were right at it and frightened them and they went 5 yards deeper. But we lacked that threat in the box. Movement in there was still poor. The changes were class though. I thought Watson completely changed our outlook. He played a part in the equaliser and his finish was worthy of winning any game anywhere. I am so pleased for him. Some of the stick he got was really unfair and the lad was only ever going to give 100% for us. It is what local lads do, whatever. As a player he is tailor made for the way we play as well and I am so pleased he goes out a hero. You could argue his goal is a £200m pound goal. Not a great argument, but nevertheless, an academy lad doing that is just awesome.

Finally saw the real Le Fee I think last 30. I am still not as taken with him as some, but I am not doubting his talent. Play like that next season I will change my tune. I thought Jobe was quiet until Neil went off. Then he really grabbed the game. He was so good the last 25 mins - unreal level. Paddy was like a different player when he came on, they couldnt live with him. Mayenda is frightening.

Main shout out from me to Patto. What a couple of saves. He has had hia critics this year, but yesterday he stood up big time. Top man.

As someone who values the academy of a club above all else I find it fitting that two of our own have made such an impact on this club. Patto as MoM and Watson as the goal hero. Another shout out to Neil. I thought the game happened around him yesterday and he was poor, but he has captained this young side brilliantly this year imo. An academy graduate captaining us back to the prem, with a squad well populated from our academy. It is all I have ever wanted to see tbh. Now let these lads loose on the premier league and be the club that has the most academy representation in the first team.
