The thing is Warnock, by a lot of accounts, is a more likeable and nicer bloke, which makes me wonder just how bad Wilder is.

You could actually see 'WEMBLEY' before most of us came back down to earth <laugh>

Most of those you can see are stewards and cleaners picking up debris from when their arses dropped.

I'm more concerned about the quality of the recording. Did he record it on a phone from 2005?

Absolutely what I saw and said too. Their 2 best chances, other than their goal, came from defensive errors. They “created” nothing. (I include the Moore header on the 1st minute too. Hume trying to play out and got it wrong)

Literally resorted to long ball game after their goal for almost the entire game. Awful to watch

I've listened to his stuff after the final, and apart from VAR, I thought he's been pretty reasonable.

He said there was no luck involved, they didn't put the game to bed when they had the chance, we fought our way back into the match and punished them when we had the chances.

    From the horse's mouth.

to be fair he’s also right that VAR gave us momentum. But we had to prosecute on that momentum and we did. It’s not luck, it’s reacting to match events. He’s wrong about whether VAR should be used and about the VAR decision itself tho

Off to see The Sunderland Story tonight. Hopefully, sales have picked after the weekend as I'd heard they'd been slow. Wonder if there's a new certain scene added from Saturday ?

Chris Rigg is a future captain. For 17 years old he has such a mature head on his shoulders and seems to be a huge part of the group personality wise.

That's all fair enough but not much else he could say tbh.

It doesn't alter the fact that he blew their automatic chances with three terrible defeats on the bounce ...

... then failed to prepare them properly for Wembley.

I'll be surprised if they don't sack him tbh, I don't see how he can motivate them after such a shambles.

I was told later on Saturday night that after he shook Regi hand at full time , he went straight down the tunnel, didn't even applaud the supporters at the end and didn't speak to until the Sky interview 1hour 30 mins after full time. He never went into the team dressing room to speak with the players by which time some of the Sheffield players had left the stadium for home.. Yes, he is a Class act. Be gone by the end of next week.

If I was Sheff Utd's boss, I'd tell him to go today.

Firstly, his team were clearly not prepared properly for that game. They blew up not long after half time, and even after Tommy's goal there was nothing. Just boots down the pitch, once or twice straight out of play! Right then, they had to risk it all, play in our half and try and force us back. But they just weren't fit enough.

Also, as well as being a k**b, he looks to me as if the pressure was really telling on him. The job was too much. It is the curse of TV now that managers are shown all the time. Mostly they can ignore it, but on Saturday, Wilder was exhibiting signs of extreme stress.

It's his job to handle pressure, deal with changes in a game and prepare the team to the max. None of these things happened. He's not up to it.
