Driving home today from a week away with work, can't wait for tomorrow's game, last league game, hopefully the sun is shining and we come racing out of the blocks and give a performance to shout about. 3-0 to us, Jobe, Isidor and rigg
Just watched it and this is what I posted OTR regarding it We don’t create chances, we don’t cross the ball quick enough, we let defences get set. And people wonder why our two strikers have scored only a couple goals in these last 12 games. We’re slowing the game down, particularly neil and O’Nien. We’re not breaking the lines fast enough and we’re not winning the ball high enough up the pitch In the offensive structure you can see the gaps between Jobe and Rigg to Dan neil is massive, so we can’t build up And then in the defensive structure recently Isidor or Rigg have initiated a press and the next line of presss is 20 yards away I don’t think you forget about doing this overnight and personally (rightly or wrongly) think it’s a mentality problem. Players are coasting not wanting bookings, injuries etc they are dead rubber games and ultimately mean nothing to the players. As a fan I don’t agree with this, spending money to go watch them. It’s poor for us. Half get their thinking if I was a player. I hope this rested period of effort and rotation means that come the play offs they have enough energy to do it for 3 90s in a row. It doesn’t even need to be that we can be cautious in one leg of the semi final and smash through the other and then you need this energy for only 2 90s. Fingers crossed it is just a blip with mentality being the issue and we get going. Keep the faith. Haway the lads
It's been rather timely with the energy assistant manager coming in too mind. I don't think this just been during this rest period. It's been a style of play since Christmas.
Not sure we can blame the assistant manager won 3 on the bounce after he came in then had that rough period where we had loads of injuries and kept drawing our results through December and January were also pretty good started Feb well and then middle of Feb is when we started to fall apart
Anyway. This is about tomorrow. No excuses tomorrow. Need to see a return to some progressive football.
We'll have to agree to disagree mate. The match tomorrow is far from pointless. To me,it's hugely important that we send out a full strength side, hungry for a top performance and an emphatic win tomorrow. Players get match fit and match ready by playing, also belief and confidence which comes from playing well and winning. Imagine the spring in the step of both Wilson and Mayenda tomorrow if they bag a couple each in a 5-0 rout of QPR. That's what will send us into Tuesday in good fettle, not pussying about shirking tackles. Also, gets our fans in the mood and sends a message to our upcoming opponents that we are a side no longer on a losing streak.
