My initial point wasn’t about booing players, it’s about booing a kid before he comes on when we are 2-0 up.

As I said ‘time and place’. I’ve never booed our player and **** me I’ve wanted to.

I’ll have my gripes in conversations and on here but I don’t take it into the stadium, that’s not support.

The lad was coming on for **** sake.

Imagine folk **** up and work and get publicly belittled in front of everyone.

Be hell on people be on to HR and kicking off.

    That’s what booing essentially is.

Must admit I didn't honestly hear the boos. I was standing applauding at the time of the substitution. I don't like it mind. Although Pembele was rusty a few behind me were giving him too much stick

Take it youre a Preston fan mate? Said at the start of the season I think you were getting results that were “underserved” if you will and it’ll not last long but for what it’s worth think you have some decent players who a good manager could get the most out of and they have to do it now because most of your best Xl are late twenties/early thirties so time isn’t on their wide.. however Lowe looks to set up negatively most of the time.

Similar to us beating Leeds it works at times when you want to frustrate teams but it’s difficult to keep it up for a full season when your data is similar to that of those at the bottom of the league in a lot of key areas.

Something I found interesting when I was looking at some data for bets earlier.. look at how many crosses both Pritchard and Aouchiche attempt compared to the wingers.

To be honest mate, and I am not defending the booing, I dont think they would have batted too many eyelids. Jobe is here because of Dodds and Speakman. They are also here because of the setup re academy through to 1st team. I know coaches at Brum who say the family is so grounded and balanced. They wont be influenced by a tiny number of fans in my opinion. A scout at Brum told me Jobe's mentality is unbelievable. I think we see that currently as he looks fatigued but his level is still high. He is a top lad.

It is a shame Ba is on the end of some grief. In my experience there have always been players who fans latch onto as useless. Very rarely is it deserved, if ever. All players will have bad games / spells, it is inevitable. It happens though. I remember Kilbane getting all sorts of abuse and it drove my mental. Every home game I would arguing like mad with those slagging him off. Go away and it never happened. Some people, I think, need a target to vent at. Shame it is a player in our colours, but it has gone on for as long as I recall tbh. Once came to blows on a supporters bus over Gordon Armstrong, and that was on the way to a game <laugh><laugh>

I love every single bugger that pulls on the shirt I would have given anything to wear. Right up to the end I wanted Rodwell to prove me wrong. But I am just a daft softie really.

I've not been as happy for a player for years as I was for Rusyn when he scored. As for booing our player whilst he's waiting to come on? How's that going to boost his confidence? I was watching the Forest v Man Utd game the other day and watched Forest fans giving someone absolute pelters. What other jobs is an individual subject to such personal abuse where there doesn't appear to be any deterrent?

Just had a little clap and a smile when Pritch smashed one in. Jumped off the sofa, screamed the house down and shouted I love you (according to my wife) when Rusyn scored. Just a massive moment and relief.

Stats are mad Ted, absolutely mad.

This time last season we had two fewer points, had won two fewer games but had scored two more goals.

This season the regular comment is 'If Clarke doesn't score, Sunderland don't score' ...
... yet we've scored 36 and Clarke only has 12.

So how does that work when other players have scored twice the amount and don't take the penalties.

It is a mad one. It FEELS like Jacky scores all the goals cos he often gets them on an off day or in a 1 goal win.

I’d say for sure he scores the most ‘goals that win is points’

I'd agree with you that people should be allowed to express themselves freely.
IE, we don't want the game getting Americanised where fans get kicked out for swearing, slagging opposing fans, slagging sky or whatever off.for instance.

And I agree with you that I also don't agree with people booing young lads who come on the pitch playing for us.
    They're massive bellends imo.
Do/did they boo their own kids or others at youth football games ?

The issue I have is that people are booing our players when we’re 2-0 up. Ba was sh*te today but from when he came onto the pitch I wouldn’t say anyone was really good. They all looked poor. He was good against Rotherham were they booing then? Pembele hasn’t played football for ages and he’s getting slagged off already. Don’t care what anyone says it’s because they’re foreign. They get lumped with the “lazy, arrogant French” stereotype.

Last few times Pritchard has came on he might aswell have not been on the pitch so why weren’t people booing then?

Boo players when we’re bottom of the championship or pissfarting around in league 1 losing 6-0 to Bolton not when we’re winning.

If my son was playing for Sunderland I'd likely be banned from the stadium by now for windmilling
