Can see my dad missing this one, he was freezing new years day and against stoke. Hopefully he puts another 10 layers on
Aye I do the old running tights under jeans trick for winter night games. I openly confess I’m a fanny with the cold. It’s easy enough keeping your top half warm with modern clothing but my legs ****ing freeze in winter, always have. If it’s cold like today but with rain added gonna be a grim one.
I don't mind admitting I have thermals on most evening games, but dad at his age feels the cold something terrible. I bought him thermal gloves and a thermal hat, but his circulation is that bad he was struggling new years day. Trouble is he doesn't want to miss the banter before the game or watching us play so tries to put up with it
Get him a new roper big ass jacket. I bought a North Face (****ing hate them) just for the match and NOWT gets through it. Just watch them on ASOS till they had couple hundred off.
Will have a look for them, been trying to find a heated bodywarmer for him, but can't get one before the game Sunday
Just look for the ones that are meant to be 4-500 and they are numbered. Mines a 360 and it’s mad warm. They go way higher but they can cost thousands. I have higher tog jackets but am I **** sitting in rain in them (like they were designed for) cos they cost fortunes
Thank you mate, I will have a look at what I can get for him, he loves coming to the games and if I can make it comfortable for him then he might keep coming into his 80's
I'm getting to this game if it's on, no matter what. My train is Edinburgh to Newcastle so, if it's cancelled, I'll just drive. I'm meeting up with safcfansfaraway, who's up from Cornwall, and a few others in the Museum. Anyone else, who wants to meet up, is welcome
Thankfully our branch bus will get us all there and the victory is waiting for us with pints and comfy chairs
I go for long johns when it gets really arctic, I'm not sure what sounds worse, wearing them or tights Heard a few people mention battery heated socks, sounds great. It's hard to be cold when your feet are toasty warm.
I’m missing the game as doing a marathon distance hike through ****ty mud and snow and whatever else the weather gods throw at us.
I have Raynauds so really struggle this time of year. Covid has made it worse but heated socks and a heated muff (arf) has made it bearable. My Dad is nearly 80 but doesn't seem to be affected by the cold
Dad suffers from poor circulation and his heart conditions don't help. The tablets im om for my heart condition means my feet and hands gets affected by this weather. It's a bit ****e getting old
