Rigg, it's not ideal but if we're serious about promotion we can't be playing players of Le Fees quality out of position in favour of developing our kids.

Rigg is very young, hasn't been especially effective recently and can be reduced to a sub role without it affecting his long term development in any meaningful way

Le Fee has been very good off the left, and whilst I would acknowledge he will be great in the centre our options on the left are limited at the moment, so I expect RLB to stick with him there for now.
Interestingly in our last game they toyed around with the formation to push Le Fee into the middle which upset our rhythm a bit, but is possibly a glimpse of things to come.

    Totally agree.

He needs a period of time like Dan Neil has under AN going for the L1 playoffs.

In a couple of weeks we'll have two lads back who will force RLB hand to change things.

In any case, him sitting out for 2 or 3 games won't harm him. Nowt wrong with a bit of competition either

His problem is that, if he's left out and we go on a winning run, he may not get another game.

We all like to soften the reality by saying 'rest, rotation or whatever' but Rigg may just see it as being dropped after helping us to this position.

That's football and the manager has to do what he thinks is best ...

... but it would mark a slight change in how we're doing things.

We all want Rigg to stay so care needs to be taken imo.

If you watch how he wins the ball here for us at the beginning of this vid, which led us to then go onto score shows exactly how important his tenacity is in the Centre of the pitch. I agree what you are saying about Le Fee but i wouldn't want to see Rigg dropped any time soon either.

Its a real headache that one, looking back Riggs highlight of the season so far was his goal against Boro, he is a real fox in the box imo , and my wildcard would be to play him there from the start for this one with the ELF in behind him, then the options get tough, the only formation that would accommodate this is a 3/5/2 and at this point I hand over to RLB . <laugh>
If it were me I would rest Wilson for this one , put him and Roberts on late on and have them rev,d up for the Boro game

Riggs reaction to losing possession led to our winner at derby - he should stay in the team for me. Using Le Fee on the left while he gets up to speed is really smart because he's better than all our other options while Watson and Mundle are injured.

On another note it will be electric tomorrow before the game if Hull can get a result at Sheffield tonight. They've actually managed to draw with Leeds and win at Millwall and Blackburn in last month despite their lowly position. Here's hoping/praying.

I guess its pretty much confirmed there'll be no Whittaker for Plymouth now (although we'll face him a week later)

I've wondered if Rigg might be better played on the left side channel rather than the right....swap him and ELF over.

Yeah I spotted that in real time. Riggy is an excellent player, but regardless of how well he's playing we have to remember he's 17 years old and will get burned out. We've seen it happen with Dan Neil in 2022, Calum Doyle the same season and Jobe last season. Absolutely nothing wrong with him sitting on the bench for 3 or 4 games and resting up. We have so many central midfield options now that we aren't weakening the team with rotation.

For what its worth I would start with
    patto
    hume/meph/O/9
    rigg/elf/dan/jobe/adil
    mayenda /wilson

using rigg elf and adil to attack at every opportunity with rigg regularly getting alongside the front two as and when.
its really RTB,s diamond with a twist.

If this offends any sensitive souls or stands on any toes, apologies in advance .

I couldn't think of a more attacking line up mate. I like the two up top. However,Dan and Jobe will have to be careful!

Not sure anyone would be offended if that's what you would play

I wouldn't be moving to a back 3 as we haven't played it at all this season

I would go 442 and bring Roberts in for Rigg

I want us to stop shoehorning players in just to start them. I kinda understanding shoehorning Le Fee in at LM, once he's up to full speed he will be used a CM/AM

It’s nice to not have a squad that picks itself isn’t it? No matter what we put out there’s quality all over the pitch and we now have some options off the bench, itching to get through those turnstiles tomorrow

I was making more of a comment on your horrific formatting, but if pressed I'd go:

    Patterson
    Hume Ballard Mepham O'Nien
    Roberts Neil Jobe Le Fee
    Isidor Mayenda
Subs: Moore, Cirkin, Hjelde, Rigg, Samed, Jones, Aleksic, Aouchiche, Ogunsuyi

    HA'WAY THE LADS

    MACKEMS ATTACKEM

A big win like Burnley had would be nice but I'll
    take another 1-0 .

We've a few tricky ones coming up in the next 4 games. Smoggs, leeds, Watford.
A wins a win. All 4 above us have dropped points recently so hopefully we keep plugging away to the end.

    Coooomon,............

    Good effort again @RTB cheers
