Hoping the fact we don’t need to rush him will help, in a ideal world gradually build him to a start v Stoke in the cup, same with samed if possible, be fine with a similar approach to the Preston cup game for that, I know a cup run can be great but I couldn’t care less about the cups right now when we’re in such a good position
Same here, no need to rush him at the minute. He could bring some more x factor to us 2nd half of the season, hin and Sameh feel like new signings Connolly will also be better equipped the 2nd half of the season than 1st
Just watching RLB's press conference and I dunno if it's just me but I don't think I've seen him so relaxed in a pc before. Joking about getting Xmas off in France, how's many points he's targeted in this period. He looks really settled here now with the club and the players. IMO the second half of the season can be better than the first half with the way everyone is used to how to play and the relationships between the players and the players and coaching staff
The lads will be chomping at the bit to keep the momentum going, get after them and bring home the 3 points. HTL.
Quinny at training today..... https://x.com/SunderlandAFC/status/1870094551349694780?t=L8vNtDVhi1wlCQdBX0oNYw&s=19
never really commented on these threads...but have to say RTB does an amazing job every week...really professional job, very informative. Keep it going mate, much appreciated
Not related to the match (sorry!!) but I`m going to be up for the game this weekend...does anyone know of any bars in the city centre that are likely to be showing the boxing later on? Thanks in advance
Tough game which i'd be delighted to get 3 points from. Norwich are one of the better attacking sides in the division so we need to be at it from the first minute this week. Would bring O'Nien in for Ballard as the only change, however I wouldn't be surprised to see more changes as we have 5 games in 16 days starting tomorrow so rotation will happen at some point. 2-1, Cirkin and Roberts.
Always enjoyed the Norwich games. All my inlaws are Norwich fans. Is it still the friendly cup, or have we knocked that on the head now. I remember the 92 semi at Hillsbrough. That was such a good day, mixing fans everywhere and not a sniff of danger. They were pretty confident mind. If memory serves they had Robert Fleck in an oxygen chamber all week to get him fit. I said to some Norwich fans in the pub I thought he was a bit crap anyway. No John Byrne. Mind you pleased there was no VAR that day. Anyway hoping for a good open game. They wont shut up shop and will come to play. After last week our lads will be buzzing. Hoping Roberts now goes on a good run of form, I think he is a confidence player. If Jobe and Neil can get control in the middle then I think we will have enough. Thanks for another cracking thread RTB. I like your team, but would probably opt for ONien ahead of Ballard. Nothing against Ballard, but I just think if I were playing I would have ONien alongside me every game I could.
It’ll be harder to find somewhere without it on to be honest anywhere that typically shows the football will have it on
Twas the night before the Christmas game and not a creature stirred To the wardrobe I utter, skipping up the stairs without stutter Are they there ? I must hastily check, that my Christmas Jumper and shirt is up to spec. The next thing I must see, is the most important it must be! I'm going to the sheepfolds I’ll need aid, I'm checking my bank account have I been paid?! It’s all in hand I’m set, should I load my app and place a bet ? Footy, darts and boxing get in ! All I need now is a Sunderland win ! Have a great day tomorrow, I’ll be the one falling down the steps from upper row 37 in the east stand after too many ales at around half time.
Poveda has only had two injuries in his career, an ankle and a hamstring ... ... he was rushed back from both and suffered a recurrence on each occasion. I'm happy to give him a chance, I think he's a good player.
TBH it puzzles me when people are demanding we 'send players back' or get rid of them. It's not costing supporters a penny and isn't harming anyone but some seem to take it personally ... ... almost as if paying £30 a ticket gives them the same rights as shareholders. I understand how the club have let us down, in the past, but believe they've done enough to gain our trust recently. Some will never be happy, no matter what, so I totally discount their views on the club.
