By my reckoning, this is Ballard's 4th injury of the season. He missed 2 games at the start after getting injured v Shields, got another injury v Plymouth and missed another 7. After the Norwich home game he missed another 4 matches, returning to the bench v Burnley and now this injury against Hull. Is this is becoming a recurring theme? He only missed 3 league games last season and they were all through suspension...
100% it's an issue. Me and a few mates always said at a match that he always seems hurt or takes ages to bounce up after a challenge. It's not something you normally associate with centre backs. He seems to be picking up lots of different types of injuries, that's a big concern. Probably just going to have to get to the end of the year and do a full reassessment of where he is at.
Frustrating like. Thought the last 2.5 games was the best he’s looked since his first season. Think we are getting to the point where we need to consider our options with him in the summer, just not reliable enough which is selfish to say because I like the lad as a player.
Exactly this! Looked very good last few. Just like what we thought. Now breaks down again. Like him, but we need reliability in there. My next thought is, who is everyone going to want tear of o’Nien with only one other git centre half?
This for me. He seemed to open up his hip when he made the block tackle, and their player was moving at a faster speed than Ballard. Hope the lads OK.
Guess they have seen the specialist this morning. That's all I knew. Think the scan was yday and they were getting it consulted on today. ****e news
Aye gutter really borderline season enders given they’d still need a few weeks training to get up to speed
100% this, we need to go for it and get back to our confident attacking play. But I don't think it will happen unfortunately.
If you sign injured players then you pay the price. We did with Samed but learnt absolutely bot all and I reckon we won't went through with it because otherwise it looked like we signed no attacking players to help Wilson.
I managed to miss that bit somehow, **** sake, saying that you can’t miss what you didn’t have so less concerned about Danns
Sounds about right to be honest. me and @Prehab26 suggested at the time it could be the case and got pelters for it mind
The Danns bit is the most frustrating part there. What was the point? Also has the knock on effect of Roberts starting every game now which is annoying.
We were top without Le Fée and Ballard, this isn't a disaster unless we make it one. We have Mundle and Watson back on the left plus Mayenda, Browne is fit again and other players ready to come in. We'll make the play-offs then we'll only need to win two more games to be promoted ... ... Ha'way the Lads, Wednesday here we come!
Trust the professionals isn't it ? All conspiracy and skulduggery apparently. We have moved on loads as a club but the medical and science aspects of the club needs review. I have banged on about it for ages. Injury timelines extended past initial. Amount of injuries, signing injured players who are not seen for half a season or if at all. That said, we had the summer till January to sort a forward and we had to go with an injured player just to make it look like we did something. Wilson or bust for the rest of the season now.
Really, I don't remember that at all, in fact I'm pretty sure you didn't. "To get pelters" is an informal Scottish phrase that means to receive verbal abuse or strong criticism.
Technically don’t need to win any! Can draw them all and go to penalties!! Sorry! I’ll get my coat!!,
