Exactly, players with a good touch work very well with close intricate passing. It would be interesting to see how Le Fee and Roberts would link up if Enzo was played in the 10 role.
Some people just love to moan and a football club is the perfect vehicle because it’s never perfect … … Man City fans have been fighting amongst themselves, at matches, because they’re frustrated. Just like some of our fans they believe they should just keep spending more and buying more players. Life’s easy when there are no consequences and it’s someone else’s money.
Regis Le Bris' 'fatigue' admission after Sunderland defeat to Hull https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...ris-fatigue-admission-sunderland-defeat-hull/ “It's possible there's some fatigue,” conceded the Sunderland boss. “It was our 34th game today and we have had a small squad, so we can understand that we can have a low point in our dynamic. “The players tried - it wasn't enough today for sure. Now, we have to recover a little to build a good shape for the last stage of the season. “The main question is the ambition, because we know to be at this level we will play many games. It's a new experience for some of the players, not the number of games, but the number of games at this (high) level to be competitive at the top of the table. “It's a new ambition, and you have to sustain the level. It's not just the way you play the games, but the way you train, the way you recover, the way you are connected with everything. I hope we'll get this reaction in the next few days.” If Le Bris is to make changes at Hillsborough, then the likes of Alan Browne, Milan Aleksic and Ian Poveda could come into the equation. None of the trio have played much football this season, with their head coach admitting they will either sink or swim if they find themselves in the starting line-up in the next few weeks. “For some players, there is probably now the opportunity to help the team and be connected with the shared project,” said Le Bris. “It's a long journey with many games to play, and I hope we can find some solutions. “We'll see if some of these players are ready because I think they will get some opportunities in the coming weeks. With young players, they still need time to develop and the main question here is the level of the team. “To be competitive in the top six is different to the middle of the table, where you can make mistakes and learn from them. But at this level, mistakes are different because the consequences are significant. We will have to manage this situation.”
a needless way to give away the corner though, not the first mistake he’s made this season that’s led to us conceding but for balance the goal yesterday he was as much to blame as Patterson and Roberts. We should have also of been better offensively, goals win games.
Exactly mate, this is the situation in which we find ourselves. You’ll be lucky to get it right every time, as Leeds proved last season and Luton this season. it’s an ongoing process … … of course the club are doing as much as they can, they need promotion whereas we just want it.
Yeah, pretty obvious some of our players are struggling and burnt out. Glad he has mentioned it. Shame it's taken a home defeat to hull for it but take the positive. Least we will see a freshening up on Friday.
And there’s the answer as most of us suspected … … they’ve played to their limits and are a bit tired, small margins mean a lot. But they’re talented and won’t give up. Whatever the case these players are all we’ve got … … it’s absolutely pointless to keep saying we should sign better in this position or cover in that position. All we can do is support what we currently have, or just give up and moan. Plan A in my case.
09 did his job and cleared his lines, trying and not succeeding in getting the ball back to Patto. If our keeper had shouted to PR to leave the cross he catches the ball no problem. Did he call for the ball, he's too quiet for me so he probably didn't....sad to say keepers fault all day long, all players make mistakes its the nature of football.
Woke up still frustrated with it, but bigger picture - its late Feb and we've just lost our first home game. Another day without two stupid errors and a couple of bad misses we win it. Put it in the bin, on to Friday. Tough game, I'd like to see Mayenda off Isidor.
I immediately thought the ball was just too high and Patterson should’ve either taken charge or realised where the ball would drop from O’Nien. But it’s easier to blame O’Nien, the ball wasn’t the only thing going over some people’s heads
I always thought it'd be Seelt and Ballard/Mepham in the end but I'm happy with how it is now. It's unfortunate that most of our tall players don't head it and our keeper isn't great at claiming crosses but these are things that can be improved on.
Only saw the first half hour yesterday and haven't read through the thread, so can't say I know the story of the day or the performance. But looking at recent activity, two points. A) there are those who say, probably corrrectly, that past trends and patterns are irrelevent to the present day and personnel B) After teams treat us as their cup final, they never win their next games. Burnley Away - great performance (pop in an away win midweek) ----- then Plymouth at home. Boro Away - another great one ---- then Watford at home Leeds Away - just short of the leagues' best , ------ then Hull at home. So, A) are we destined to never to continue the promise and deal with the lesser teams at home after a good game-- as we say '' It's the hope that gets you'' B) for balance, if we say other teams can't play after facing us, then are we blowing ourselves out in the bigger games ? If we'd put less effort in the away games and accepted defeat in favour of three home wins, we'd be three points better off. !
Hes been carried for too long mate, he is a sub at best , should never start and should never play 90 minutes for me. He is the main reason I have been calling for two up front ince before Xmas . We are so one sided with him in the team its laughable. .
Back to that issue of lacking creativity and vision. Le Fee in the centre would help massively. Hope he's not too bad.
