I think Fell is making a valid point though, enforceable rule change is required, the ref yesterday handled the time wasting well but it could easily have been us on conceding in the time added on due to their time wasting. A sin bin would be my answer, but maybe other ways could be envisaged to eliminate this curse,
I found it hilarious once we had scored and they lined up with 9 forwards, lumped it forward and we got a goal kick. Their player sprinted like Usain Bolt to get the ball place it on the spot for the goal kick only for AP to take it to the other side to take the kick. Even better the ref did sweet FA as he must have been thinking justice has been served.
This is the point I made yesterday and was the main reasons I wanted Keane back for the never say die attitude that you can win the game at anytime and it only takes a second to score a goal. However AN has instilled this attitude in to the team and I also believe he is a better coach and very tactically minded, so after the disappointment of us not getting Keane in the long run we ended up with the better option by far
Agree with this. Independent time keeper imo is the only way forward. The Fleetwood game (I think) they wasted time for the entire game. We got me ahead and the ref still added the time on. Almost rewarding their tome wasting with extra time in the end. Immaterial as we won 3-1 in the end. If the clock was stopped when the ball went out and you play, for instance, 30 minutes playing time each half it’d stop it all overnight. We’ve watched it all season. it needs fixing. But, as my dad says, they -appear to change rules that the players seem to want, completely ignoring the most important thing in football which is the fans. Fans buy sky sports, season cards, fans are responsible for businesses which sponsor by buying their products. So why is it that they’re never listened to?
Possibly not explaining this very well but if we had scored say in the 85 minute and I had been ref I would have added sweet FA time on. Like other teams up here recently they were wasting time from the 4th minute. Something definitely needs to be done.
I also enjoyed the fact that Broady just launched himself into the fans. The passion the emotion the noise was fab. Pathetic the ref booking him at that time in the game but I suppose he has rules to follow.
We really should be starting with two up front at home mind, the difference when Broadhead came on was huge. Stewart began to see more of the ball also as he knew he could come deeper for it as there would likely be someone else stepping up to his position. He is too isolated at times. Scoring the winner after Gillingham spent most of the game rolling around on the floor was a bit of karma, the bit when the bloke dropped holding his face was just embarrassing. As was the away fans singing "you're not fit to referee". If I played for a team who's manager actively wanted the players to cheat I'd be asking for a transfer...and if the manager didn't encourage that he should be tearing into the players that do it.
The club should make an official complaint to the EFL imo. Do some independent timekeeping and send it to them and also to whoever it is that is in charge of assessing the referee's. It's an absolute joke, and it's blatantly cheating. A couple of early bookings in the first 10mins would sort it.
Tin hat on here but I'm not that big of a fan of Clarke. Don't get me wrong, I think he can be a big talent but for me he tries to do too much. A few times yesterday, Cirkin was open for a pass and Clarke then tried to take 2 men on, failed then passed to Cirkin. I don't think he's what we need at the moment although I worked like to see him and Roberts switch places to whip balls into the box rather than overloading in the middle of the park when it's already packed
Stupidly, and to me, inexplicably, took his shirt off: footballers copy each other even if it is to do something daft
When their player realised he was about to be subbed he simply threw himself to the ground. For a moment I thought the referee would book him for ungentlemanly conduct as he has the right to do. Just do it and let his club produce an injury report to protest it. Also their physio came on for another player who was obviously feigning cramp. The physio carried out a series of half hearted 'treatments' that would have no possible effect on cramp. He spent most of the time signalling with their bench. Once again this was right under the nose of the referee who should've booked the physio and the player. It's cheating and couldn't be more obvious ffs.

We don't have Sunderland type attendances or revenue, in fact we don't have any money at all nor a rich owner. We could never afford the wages of some clubs, I said you would win and you did. As for the cheating, if that's what you want to call it, personally you've been down here long enough now in L1, to know some clubs have to scrape buy to survive. I've not made one detriment comment to your club, so you carry on fella. I'd noted your previous comments, just remember this, you are not getting automatically promoted, you will have to go via the lottery if you make it at all, so chances are unless we get relegated you might have to come visit our scaffold AGAIN next season.
Anyway, for anyone that's genuinly interested in my thoughts, it was a stunning 95th minute goal and was well deserved. All we could do was put ten men behind the ball and hold on, despite all our prayers Sunderland found a way though, a much needed victory for yourselves, and heart breaking for us, thankfully Wimbledon also lost (although that might be a negative for you guys). I did say in my pre match comments on here, my eyes would be on games elsewhere, and we still have the important game for us of Fleetwood on our own turf, on the Bank Holiday Monday. I'm surprised Neil Harris has managed to turn us around to even enable us to hold on for 95 minutes at Sunderland, by whatever means possible, let alone to reduce a 10 point gap behind in the relegation places, to move us outside. When you are down at the bottom, you have to scrape for what you can get, and it's not pretty. Congratulations on your win.
Given your resources and the position you were in Neil Harris has done a great job to be fair. I thought you defended well, blocked most of our shots and limited us to a hand full of half chances. Top marks to your twitter admin
For what it is worth I think you will stay up and I like your manager. I thought you were well organised and tactically well set up for the game. A minute away from achieving a 0-0 which I thought was your objective and would have been mine if I were Harris.
What was strat was that their no 6 was their best player. Beat Stewart to so many headers. But got caught out for the goal by a lad 6” shorteythan Stewart. fwiw I don’t call a deserved win of any kind lucky when the goal comes in the 95th minute. All goals technically involve some luck. If it’s a glowing move from a goal kick, if the opposition had finished better it would be a kick off. There’s luck involved everywhere. We earned that luck yesterday by being the better team as for those who ****ed off early without reason, ha ****ing ha!!!
As a Sunderland fan the time wasting was excruciating to watch, but i suppose as a Gillingham fan needs must, and on reflection it nearly paid off for them , if the shoe was on the other foot , i cant say i blame them the points are a must.
